You were the first person online (for me) to openinly talk about sex, periods, and just all things female! I know it’s less taboo now and people share everything online but you truly just don’t bullshit. And you reinforce how these are just natural things about our body! You’re going to be an amazing mother and thank you for sharing your journey with us❤
An older person once told me it’s always been scary bringing a baby into the world and it’s no worse now than it was before. Once you have your baby you come to realize there is no greater human experience. I’m so excited for you guys!!
I love this video, what got me through my pregnancy was knowing that many woman before me had done it and reading their birth stories . Like you said don’t focus too much on what you can’t control.
i watched the business of being born in 2015 and i haven't stopped talking about it since. anytime someone i know is pregnant, i encourage them to watch that movie and look into the history of midwifery and doulas and home birthing and how empowering it can be.
I was hard set on 0 kids for so long but my opinions have changed and this video is so so amazing to watch hearing you speak about it so positively/raw. Love you sm
❤ love the video. My babies are in their 30’s & 40’s now. Each child is a special day and there is nothing better than that moment your eyes meet. My babies now have their own babies that is just as special for me to be part of their journey. This will be so special for your mom. Excited for all of you
YOU ARE LITERALLY SOOOO FUNNY QUEEN I WAS LAUGHING RIGHT THERE WITH U!!! i looove how you share your experiences, sending all the best vibes💛 u are slaying pregnancy!
My biggest phobia in life was childbirth. But funny enough, when I became pregnant, I wasn't really nervous. I think it was the same mindset as you: It's coming out one way or the other. I'm not the only one who has gone through this. And I was blessed with such an easy labour :)
Same here! Always wanted to be a mother but was terrified about childbirth. Once I became pregnant, wasn’t even a worry. Didn’t have a super easy labor but it is what it is, would do it again! 👌🏻😂
Just had our baby 3 weeks ago today and achieved my goal of having a drug free birth, and it was UNREAL (in the best ways). I was also only in labor for 3 hours which is insane. Your body knows what it’s doing and birth is truly a magical experience! So excited for you!
I love pregnancy q+a’s! One of my other fav RU-vidrs was pregnant right before I was and I loved watching her pregnancy related content even though it was such a 180 from her normal content. I think they’re nice for those who are already moms, who want to have kids, and even those who don’t! They’re interesting regardless in my opinion and I’m here for it!
Congratulations on your pregnancy, Megan. I've been watching you since I was a lil kid and have always known you were born to be a Mother so seeing you now brings a tear to my eye. Wooo!
Omg I don’t have kids yet and planning a pregnancy as a wedding photographer has always unfortunately been my first thought. This q+a gets me so excited for the day that I find out I’m pregnant whenever that time comes and I’m also sooo incredibly excited for you. The world needs more of your energy!
I love how real you are and not afraid to be open and honest ❤ you are a beautiful soul and I can’t wait to see you guys become (human) parents! Sending good vibes and positive energy
I'm pregnant with my third (our rainbow baby this time 😊). This will also be my third homebirth. You got this! There is no feeling more rewarding or glorious then when that baby is laid on your chest and 9 months of worry or wondering is finally put to rest. The insane sense of relief and joy is trully indescribable. I am so excited to feel that again soon, even thinking about it makes me want to cry tears of joy.
My sister and I were both born at home and I plan to free birth my children as well. Birth is so beautiful. I’m so excited for you Meghan! I so appreciate your positive words towards birth, that is so rare in this day. Not something to be feared, we were built to birth! ❤️
i also bought a belly band once i entered my 3rd trimester. the weight of my belly was sooo hard on my lower back especially with working all the time. and the skin tag thing!!! i developed skin tags around my areolas which is normal too and who knew! something i’ve experienced post birth is missing being pregnant🥹 the hormone drop after birth is insane. good luck on the rest of your pregnancy ❤️
I got my husband to record my home labor and I liked that he did but in the end I did delete all the videos after watching them because I knew I wouldn’t show anyone but I got a lot of great “modest” photos from the videos that I would share or have for myself. I ended up having to go to the hospital for c section after my home birth but I was ready for things to not go there way I wanted and so it all was fine and didn’t traumatize like everyone talks about
living for the pregnancy content! I'm 12 weeks now and appreciate your insight so much. Would love to hear how the parenting class goes for you guys. :)
I checked the comments and didn’t see one addressing it, but your bleeding gums is not necessarily anything wrong. Especially by the late second and third trimester your blood volume is so high and it’s way easier to get nosebleeds and bleeding gums! If it doesn’t subside post pregnancy it’s worth getting checked out for sure, but using an ultra soft bristled toothbrush can help. Also maybe a water flosser instead of manual floss!
I'm not a mother but apparently as a baby I loved constant sound and would only quieten down when the vacuum was going, so if anything the house reno might help quell the crying of your little one! Also the thought of your baby being born into the world with a little hard hat on is hilarious 😆 Love you!
I GENUINELY cannot express how happy I am for you and Finley! 🥹 I’ve been a follower since I was around 14/15ish (aka the MissMeghanMakeup days), and it has been such a honor to follow alongside you all these years! I ~think~ we are only a year apart in age, and it has been AWESOME to watch you grow as I have grown. I truly am filled with so much joy for you both, and I am so excited for you in this next chapter of life, Meghan! 💛 BABY OHRSTROM GANG!! 🎉🎉🎉
the farting part made me laugh so much! my first trimester was so incredibly horrible i could hardly eat anything and i was always throwing up. i relate to the nail thing but for me it was my eyesight ms.gurl took my vision now i need to wear glasses lol but the second trimester when the nausea went away and i was eating so much
I think a fact that often helps people understand how far we've come is that if your baby is born at week 25, there's 2/3 of chances they will survive. Starting 30 weeks, almost garanteed to survive. Sure there can be health problems later on or while growing, but they can still make it.
i got my placenta encapsulated and any time i have a migraine i take one and its the only thing that has ever helped. its also very good to help regulate your hormones after pregnancy and once your periods start back up! just something to consider that worked amazing for me
SKIN TAGS! They can form with hormonal changes (pregnancy, pcos etc), BUT i just learned that tea tree oil will help them fall off. I put a drop on one on my lef for only about 3 days in a row and it turned a dark brown and fell off. This was news to me! safe for pregnancy post 1st trimester as well
This was such a great video to watch! So happy for you both. I’m 5ish weeks away from the birth of my 3rd baby. It will be my 3rd baby in 4 years and my second freebirth/wild pregnancy. You absolutely have got this and your body knows what to do. I’m so excited to watch this special time for you guys. Thankyou for sharing. ✨🥰
Just had my baby 5 days ago! Going to grab some snacks while she's sleep in the carrier and catch up on your vids! Congratulations on making it into the home stretch 🤎
We are due pretty close together, i am due june 1st. I have been watching your youtube for so long and its so cool that we are pregnant at the same time. This is my third baby but will be my first homebirth. I am so excited!
i also want a home birth! i would love an in-depth video about the home birth specifically afterwards ❤ so happy for you queen and thank you for the honesty❤
My ONLY advice, take it or leave it, is just please please be careful you never know what can and will happen. 42:29 I originally wanted to a home birth and THANK GOD I didn’t because my daughter would have died. When my daughter was born she had swallowed the fluid when coming out, idk when or how but she did, I got her out and she cried a tiny little sound, they placed her on me and I IMMEDIATELY knew something was wrong, she wasn’t crying and she was turning blue and purple. I held her for 5 seconds not even and she was ripped away and they started working on her. They pulled about 3 FULL viles about 5-6inches long and a half one. I was terrified bc I was left alone and before I knew it EVERYONE that was needed was with my baby, pediatrician, all the nurses, respiratory, everyone. She ended up in the NICU for about a day but that was it. If I had done a home birth, my daughter probably would have died bc we wouldn’t have had anything to clear out her lungs. Birth is completely unpredictable, please please be careful! I hope for a happy, healthy, amazing experience for you!
I could not believe how many side effects I had never heard of before I got pregnant. So crazy........ My two daughters are the most amazing experience I've ever had and I'm so excited for you to start that leg of your journey.
Your maiden to mother energy is poppin in this!! Sure of yourself! Take no shit! But be nice about it! So excited for you 🥲🤍 Also the way Jane Williamson (the Utah moms parody gal) has started vlogging is super admirable. Showing her kids but not showcasing them at all!
The current state of the world question is a tough one. Obviously it's scary to bring a baby into the world in this climate, but if we all just stopped bringing babies into the world because of the state of things, there would be no hope for improving it. It's all about due diligence and raising good human beings.
12 weeks. After a long infertility journey, miscarriage, and I had a subchorionic hematoma early in this pregnancy and was bleeding so alot of anxiety, but agree with the discharge 😅 definitely makes me more anxious thinking I was bleeding 😢 let's hope from now on it gets better 🤞
@@meghanhughes it’s so crazy and I’m sure you’ve been getting this a lot but we’re pregnant at the same time and I’ve been watching since your Georgia room days
Honestly, i'm the 2nd of 4 children and every birth went differently for my mom. My older brother took 23 hours to come out because he kept starting to come out then stopping, my mom had to be provoked to get it started because she was a few days late. Then there's me who she had to hold back from coming out, i was a day early and the doctor put on his gloves and pop my head came out. Not sure how long my little brother took but he had the embelical cord wrapped around his neck so as soon as he was out they took him away to be reanimated. He's totally fine now, probably the smartest one of us lol. Every birth is different and you never know what to expect!
Little breastfeeding tip Or something to consider about pumping, if you’re planning to breastfeed on demand don’t pump , unless you need release , like your boobs are too engorged and baby is sleeping you can extract a bit or a little for fridge if you’re leaving baby with someone but over all don’t pump to make it come in .. let the baby summon the milk because the baby will regulate how much milk it needs and if you pump it’ll cause you to overproduce.. anyway after 5 births from c section to all natural my most favorite is the el natural with my doula !! Girl you got this it’s so much a mental thing ! Our body’s are built for this and knowledge is power !! All the best to you and your growing family !!! It’s so exciting!! Such bliss!! It’s the best thing ever !! ☀️☀️🥰🥰🐥
Love hearing about your views on birth! I'm doing a phd on childbirth and maternity care! Also as a 30J i will be taking note on everything big boobs, breastfeeding and nursing bras for when that time comes for me 😅
i got the XL auden nursing bra from target & love it so far! it definitely leaves some room to grow & has like 6 adjustable clasps which slaysss! i hope i love it for actual nursing too
You’re gonna get so big! 😆 no but really I hope you dilate so much that it’s a breeze 🫶🏽 sending all the good vibes from Ohio, you’ve got this in the bag 👽
I am not pregnant but I have a handful of mental and physical health issues and I also do not want to focus solely on the negative aspects of the world. I’m not ignoring them either, I’m doing everything I can to spread awareness & stuff like that. I struggle to keep up with that and simultaneously take care of myself because I feel extremely guilty prioritizing myself while the world is in this state. If anyone has any advice for me on what to do please let me know 🙏🥲
I had a home birth for my first baby as well. Went on to have a free birth with my second child. You won’t regret it one bit. Don’t let yourself hold on to fear. Stay confident. Pick out your warrior goddess affirmations. My biggest advice is to chug water with electrolytes at the start of labor. Drink a nutrient packed green smoothie and eat a light meal to fuel your body because you won’t want to eat during active labor. You’ll need the energy and staying hydrated is important to prevent hemorrhage.
You look so radiant Meghan!! I’m so happy for you and Finley. I sent you a book for your little girl to your PO Box, I hope you get it :) (I wrote it!)
Breast milk changes taste once frozen just fyi. Our baby didn’t like the taste of it and so we could use any of my frozen milk. Maybe see if baby girl will drink it before you pump heaps. Or you could use it for baths and healing ….anyways good luck with everything. Also breastfeeding is hard work so day at a time. Go girl 🎉
your blood volume increases with pregnancy...hence the nasal congestion and gum changes, maybe the skin tag increase although never heard that one before
Back in the 70's and the 80's when I had my babies, Ina Mae Gaskins was the birth guru so it was unmedicated vaginal birth for me. I found all my births were great ( the longest was 6 hours) hey were all huge babies..9 and 10 pounders, however, my DIls have mostly had csections with huge babies and they actually preferred c sections .... ..although I am one of those die hard bring in the family, lavender incense, or water birth.... I have learned how special each birth is so special... so I honestly pray you have the birth you want... on another note... true story, after baby # 3 who was an Easter baby I gave birth, took the baby on the breast, birthed the placenta..and ate 2 Peanutbuter eggs... no shame.. LOL Working on the baby gift HUgs~ Lea
