i just discovered this gem of a youtube channel! thank you Doc Monisha for sharing your experiences. this inspires me to study harder in med school. :)
The way you explained about the choosing uk and experience in india, just made me relate to it so much. It felt like you spoke my mind. Your videos are kind of liberating me from many doubts that has been inside me since so many years. Thanks di for putting this video
Hey Monisha your videos really give us a clear idea of how to get to the UK and what life could be after that. Thanks for these videos. Also could you do a video on how to build a CV to get a good FY2 posting and later on how to build a portfolio exactly to get into Co-training. It would be really helpful.
Hey.. Here’s the link to the elaborate video I made on how I got into training and I have also shown my portfolio from cover to cover. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e4uwGsRmIag.html
Your videos are very elloborate. And you’re always very honest and expressive about things. That’s something I really like about your videos. Thankyou!
Hey Monisha ,i am new to your channel. I love the way you put things and options, out there in a simplified manner .Thank you for sharing all the information and making it sound achievable ♥️
Hi dr.monisha! ..you have been of a great help to many people and I just want to say thank you for that 😊 . Keep making informative videos , many people are struggling.
I am a student of 4th year medical school in russia,i have 2.5 years until i complete my degree from here.Until now,i really don't have studied anything except anatomy and pharmacology.Do you think i can complete my preparation for plab in 2.5 years and what do you suggest where should i start and what coaching should i join or what study material should i use
What to do if my medical school is not listed on the website of world directory of medical school so what are the step to make my PMQ verified by GMC Please make a video on that topic What are the steps , document required
Hey i have a query where exactly do we do fy1 and 2 and all like are they in universities, hospitals or where, because people keep saying apply for FY1 programme before plab and i dont get it where to apply and all , and also what are these CAS and SJT and all Please help
Love your videos..It really gives a clear insight of life as a doctor in UK. I wanted to ask if you did your MBBS from a government hospital and did you drop a year after class 12 to prepare for Neet...Thank You😊
thanks for this wonderful video❤. Just feeling thrusted towards life. I've few doubts would you mind clarifying them please 1.Will the salary be sufficient to make accommodation there 2.how difficult is it to get accustomed to their medical system ? Is it possible to get clinical knowledge and treating patients soon? Are they friendly enough to teach IMGs? 3. Is complete knowledge of text books enough or should I subscribe to any coaching sites like marrow PLABABLE etc? 4.How easy is it to progress fy1 to fy2 and so on?
1. That’s a very subjective question. Depends on your lifestyle, rent and other expenses. I can’t generalise that! 2. Again depends and varies from person to person. I still learn new things everyday about NHS and the U.K. But I enjoy learning new things! If you are a friendly, warm and genuinely nice person why wouldn’t anyone like you? IMG or not? 3. I have made a whole video on what you need for PLAB and materials I read. Here’s the PLAB playlist - ru-vid.com/group/PLJUezYb2CNeAyarfkp2XvHaBTzRrqhdt3 4. If your portfolio (CV) is brilliant and you tick all tick boxes why won’t you progress easily?
1. generally it should be OK. Unless you are looking to buy a BMW or Mercedes.😊 2. Keep an open mind about it. Racism exists everywhere one just has to be resilient. And teaching for local and IMG is the same.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I haven't done plab but want to complete mrcp and move to the UK. I am now 36 years old and I wish to do GP training. Is age an issue? I have been working as a service medical officer all these while in the department of Endocrinology and Diabetes after doing my postgraduate diploma in Diabetic foot and Diabetes. I wish to progress and long to get trained in the UK.
I have a feeling we’d be great friends, I have never met anyone say they don’t like hot weather until now , I am the same. I am in uk too, in Liverpool with my partner and 2 cats , would love to make new friends 😊 cheers if u r up for it 😁
Hi Dr Monisha I relate myself to you a lot especially the reasons you gave for choosing to practice medicine in the UK . I'm on my way to my plabs. Wanted to ask you if there is any way we can bring our parents to the UK in the long run. (more than the usual 6-months visa period ). Can they come as our dependants as I'm the only child who wants them as well in the UK. I know it's an immigration question but if you have any knowledge about it, that would be so kind ❤️
Myra. You cannot get parents on dependent visa. Some rare cases of political asylum being granted do exist but they are few and far between. Mostly they will be getting multiple entry visa so they can come and go multiple times but they cant stay long term. Lets say if a 1 yr multiple entry visa was granted, it is expected that the person will come and go multiple times. However if you want you can take a risk, which is generally not advisable, they can stay the whole 1 year and go back, but when you apply next time for the visa, passport stamp will show that the said person had stayed continuously in UK for 1 yr and next visa will be declined mostly likely without explanation.
Hi. Its noor from Pakistan. I'm a 4th year MBBS student. I want to pass plab . Can you suggest me what should i do as a student which can help me in passing plab.
Hi there I'm british just so u know where I am coming from, I love watching people reactions and life in uk, can I ask how do people in India view people who move UK , I'm always worried that in away we are stealing the best and brightest from around the world (for comparison I like in the North and we tend to yhink that London steals the best and brightest from around the UK)
From my experience, people view going to UK as a great accomplishment as its a more developed country compared to India. Also you don't need to worry that uk steals the brightest from the world as its not the case. The opportunities, lifestyle etc are very limited in india due to the massive population. its mostly personal preference and people prefer going abroad for better opportunities, salary etc :) hope this helps !!
I m ur regular follower thanks for the info u give us ... Its my humble request to plz make a vedio pointing out the difference as to how life of a doctor in India differs from that in UK given that u have seen both the world's u can give a good perspective plz shed some light on this topic ... Thanks
Hi mam , I'm a direct MBBS doc taking MRCOG 1 this year ,.. What step of training do I fall under and what are the chances of getting one if I apply for a training post in UK post the exam? Please reply
Leela. If you complete your MRCOG you will go to ST4 straight and then complete the rest of the training. But if you dont you will have have to do CT1/CT2
Hlo Mam.I hv gone thru most of ur videos and they r quite informative. My Plab 1 is on may 2021 .I wanted to ask abt the sponsorship thing u talked abt in one of ur videos. Can i be the sponsor of my visa n all fundings?
I visited India thrice in 2019 before the pandemic hit. So, obviously things have changed now given the pandemic. It depends on a lot other factors now.

Hey.. I have made a video on the timelines and made comparisons with India to give you better clarity. Here’s the link - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9GI_xFq_BCg.html
Thank you Mam I’m Dr Poornima (post intern )from India I heard we have to complete FY2 there after plab 2 So could you let me know what is after FY2 to enter into Obg pg ??
You are very interesting .However, your enthusiasm is in the speed you talk which is much too fast to comprehend what you saying. Just moderate your speech flow this would help your future patients . All the best and welcome to England!
Hii maam i am a MBBS student in Kolkata ... If i do my pg in uk after getting selected in Plab and return back to india after 7 or 8 years later ... Will my degree be valid in India as it was there or i have to give any exam here ?? Please tell me Maam
Honest and simple question - why is it that Indians who learn English never seem to learn to use "The" - as in "The" UK, or "The " North of India or "I called THE police" as opposed to "I called Police"?
May be because English isn’t our first language and most of the times we are thinking of the answer or sentences in our native language first before translating it to English in our heads and then responding.
Ramagundam,The Thermal Capital of Telangana❤️ u should be proud of this rather than complaining about Domino's😂😂... just a joke😂 and meeru telugu matladuthara?

Hey.. I have made an elaborate video on the same. “How I got into core training in London” explains what all I did to build my portfolio. Hope you find it useful.
