That's exactly what I said!! The Surah Maryem thing. People told me to read Surah Maryem when I was pregnant, and I did, and I read the translation and I was horrified because her (RA) situation was so frightening! And I said how in the world is this supposed to help me?? And of course there is wisdom and lessons in every part of the Quran which is all valid. But having a hormonal preggo read a story about a woman having such a difficult childbirth and pregnancy experience is probably not the greatest advice
