I appreciate these videos of discussing living your life for God first and others. I work at a lowly job position and still appreciate this talk. My teen sons need direction, and I am praying for God to save them and direct them.

You might consider your position 'lowly' but that's according to this world's standards. Jesus said the greatest in this life/world will be the least in the next, and the least in this life/world will be the greatest in the next. Each of us must choose between riches in this short painful life and riches in the next eternal one. You can't have both. Jesus said if you choose Him, this world will hate you. I choose to have the better eternal life, and worldly accomplishments in this life do not matter after you die. (BTW, they don't matter after you die if atheism is true, either.)

Why now? Because of what John has recently read himself... New ideas that gave him the motivation to write it. 🤔 Maybe he's read Bernardo Kastrups philosophical books?

I can listen and write down everything that is said here and as I speak to the Holy Spirit about each topic He knows that I know that sooner or later I will hear someone say something that is DARN RIGHT RIDICULOUS > 🤪 EXAMPLE: When any mature believer speaks of becoming weary while serving the LORD and others I know that he or she could NOT be serving in the strength that God provides IN ACCORDANCE TO 1 Peter 4:11. And if they are NOT doing EVERYTHING IN LOVE as is clearly stated in (1 Corinthians 16:14) then they WILL burn out and the glory will NOT go to the LORD as it should! I can tell when a person is talking to me or serving me or serving others with me when they are doing it IN LOVE > ❤️ HOWEVER: No one I know has convinced me that they love their job because they LOVE serving their bosse(s) and others and that clearly tells me that God is TESTING ME since ALL the people I have ever worked for and with are UNITED in being so UNLOVING towards one another just like you are ALL UNITED in saying something stupid to cause me to make this silly comment > 🤪 GOD'S WILL FOR US IN CHRIST JESUS IS CYRSTAL CLEAR YET WHO DOES IT IN MY LIFE > 🤪 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 AMP [16] Rejoice always and delight in your faith; [17] be unceasing and persistent in prayer; [18] in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. [19] Do not quench [subdue, or be unresponsive to the working and guidance of] the [Holy] Spirit. THAT WILL BE THE DAY WHEN GOD STOPS USING ALL OF YOU TO TEST ME > 🤪 HE'S THE POTTER YOU ARE HIS POTS and He surrounds me with cracked pots and points me to Jeremiah 12:5 > 🤪 THEN HE POINTS ME TO: 1 Corinthians 16:13 > 14; Romans 12:9 and Colossians 3:23-25 AND LATELY TO THIS LITTLE DITTY: Dare to be a Daniel. Dare to stand ALONE! Dare to have a purpose. Dare to make it known > 😇 Romans 8:28-30 AMP [28] And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. [29] For those whom He foreknew [and loved and chose beforehand], He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son [and ultimately share in His complete sanctification], so that He would be the firstborn [the most beloved and honored] among many believers. [30] And those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified [declared free of the guilt of sin]; and those whom He justified, He also glorified [raising them to a heavenly dignity]. NOTE! LORD: Why is this application doing crazy things that make MY PURPOSE for using it so difficult? It's "ACTING" just like ALL the people you put in my life > 🤪 THE ANSWER IS IN ONE OF THE CRAZIEST SCRIPTURES: Romans 8:31 NLT What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? < notice the question mark! If my boxing coach is for me why is he always hitting me in my weak spots > 🤪 Luke 6:40 AMP A student is not superior to his teacher; but everyone, after he has been completely trained, will be like his teacher.

Love John Lennox. I have listened to so many of his lectures and have a number of his books but I have to say that I disagree with one comment he made - "God loves us because of who we are." When we consider all the bible has to say about the destructive and defiling influence of sin upon humanity, and we then consider the infinite purity and holiness of God, we must accept the fact that we have lost all intrinsic worth before a holy God. There can only be one answer to the question 'why does God love us?' It is because of who He is not because of who we are. 'God is love.' The parable of the prodigal son is a wonderful illustration of this. If we say that the reason the son was forgiven includes the fact of who he was, the grounds of forgiveness then includes the son's inherent worth as well as the forgiving father. ALL credit should go to the Father. His forgiveness is beyond comprehension. It is other worldly. Grace, grace, grace.

Jesus' love for us through His supreme sacrifice gives us value. His precious life and blood are worth more than all of humanity combined, and when that majestic love and forgiveness is applied to us, it gives us value. God the Father loves us because we are His children, created in His image, with the potential to become members of His Everlasting Family in His Everlasting Kingdom to come.

Dr. Lennox [at Track:4:00-5:08] comment regarding God calling people into business or academia [ for whatever reason] is sadly mistaken, because Jesus [God’s son] went into whatever space [e.g., business, academia, etc.] to call on Matthew/ Peter and other disciples due to their heart condition. In fact, to the contrary, Jesus told Peter [after the miracle of overloading the boat with a fish catch] that Peter will become a ‘fisher of men’ - from which Peter [who just happened to be in the fishing business, choose [at that moment] to leave the fishing business and became a dedicated follower of Jesus. Analogous but contrary to Peter is the account of the Rich Young ruler -who [like Peter who also may have been torn between having a commitment to a business vs. what it means to accept Jesus invitation to ‘Come be my follower’ - because you cannot serve two masters. Peter made the right decision and the Rich, Young, Ruler [both in the business space] made the wrong decision. There is no ecumenical consensus between the 1st Century Christianity and the Prosperity Gospel.
@scwienert

Working a job/running a business and serving Christ alone are not mutually exclusive as you seem to imply. John is not in any way referring to a prosperity gospel, not sure what you’re talking about there.

You say "God loves everyone"... did God love Adolph Hitler?
@paul.w.k.
@paul.w.k. 4 месяца назад
Yes he did love him, but hated the sin. Consider God's love and how he desires repentance in this verse: "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

If you quote scriptures I will do the same: Numbers 15:32-36. You are setting a dangerous precedent by separating a sin from a sinner. What was your god thinking as he watched his 'agents' butchering heretics during the 17th century? Why don't we still do it today?@@paul.w.k.

The more I view of Lennox the more I disrespect him. I might forgive the many Christians who try to justify ( and fail )a belief in god from ignorance, but John Lennox is an intelligent man and should know better. We should seek truth. John uses his intelligence to distract from this pursuit. Shame on you mr Lennox. You would not tolerate this behaviour in your own area of maths specialism.
@MrBillzinn
@MrBillzinn 3 месяца назад
What an ignorant response. Dr. Lennox is, in fact, a mathematician, and a scientist as a result. He was also raised as a Christian, and he attempts very well to make the two compatible. But the point he makes in other lectures is that a nihilist accidental universe could not come into existence by chance, despite the arguments of Reese and Hawkings. Furthermore, his mathematical specialization leads only, he believes, to an intelligent creator. After that he adds his Christian faith. Again, what an ignorant response.
