Hi, we are owners of an amazing dog who has had epilepsy for over a year and it's a rough rough road. I found your channel because our boy has stopped eating because the 3 seizure meds have caused Liver damage and we are trying to correct this. Thank you again for all you do for our wonderful pets!
I would like to say I did not panic when my dog had recently had the only seizure I am aware of. She was on our kitchen floor. I heard a thud looked over, her mouth was half open and twitching, she was laying completely on her back legs up in the air while urinating at the same time!! I was sleeping on the couch at the time, woke up to the sound of the thud which must have been her lil skull hitting the floor, (around 3:00 am). I know better than to disrupt this process especially with people but I panicked and picked her up!! 🤦🏼♀️ Luckily, she came to, opened her eyes, stopped urinating but seemed out of it. Five days prior I had just given her a flea med. I am convinced that was what caused it. Unfortunately I no longer give her flea meds nor heartworm prevention pills because I am afraid she’s going to have another seizure or whatever that was!! To my knowledge, this has never happened before and hasn’t happened since. I did not take her to the vet or ER either bc I was already scheduled to work alone at the hospital in pathology the following two days due to staffing shortages.. after seeing this video, If that ever were to happen again, work, or no work I would take her to an ER immediately! Do you recommend taking to Vet or ER for bloodwork directly after the episode, is it time sensitive for example a stroke patient? My next question, how can you tell the difference between a stroke versus a seizure in a dog or cat? Thank you! ❤
Hi Dr Sue! I am a huge fan and have been following you since my Golden was (mis) diagnosed with OSA. We recently received results which confirm she has Multiple Myeloma. Do you have any videos or comtent around Multiple Myeloma? Thank you!
