New model with bigger MCU memory (for the firmware), better filtering and full HF band receive would be great! Or if possible, using the external FSK modem to receive APRS - that would be possible, problem is in a non-standard preamble that the modem expects. Regarding the third band, 6m or 23cm would also be interesting.
Hi there, really enjoying your presentation style and your excellent English. :) Regarding DSB, have you noticed any increase in long range readability of your TX in DSB compared to FM? Normally I would expect longer range in SSB because the TX power is concentrated on one side, but maybe there is no advantage in DSB? Or maybe there is still an advantage in readability because the noise floor is lower with sideband RX? Does DSB DSB work between two Quanshengs running IJV? And how about readability reports of your TX in AM mode? I would really like to see more videos from you with real world FM / DSB / AM comparisons. Thanks again.
Dear all, You CAN'T get around hardware limitations with software. When you try this, anything outside of the hardware designed transmission ranges will simply not work. You will get microwatts. The receive is a bit better but not really. These mods are great for experimentation but not for practical use.
Hi Paolo, I watched the video with pleasure. I ask you, how did you solve the problem of front end overload in vhf when you connect an external antenna? I've built some dual-band antennas and in vhf sometimes I have broadcast-dependent problems. I bought a small, cheap notch filter that works well, but my fear is that it may not be suitable for transmission. What do you think? 73 Luca

Zdravím, mám quanscheng uv k6, s teleskopickou CB anténou, plus ještě teleskop dualband. Firmware je egzumer 0.20, který mi tam nahrával kolega. Mám dvě otázky. 1.Opravdu dělá ijv problémy, v kvakošovi a opravdu se nedá, z nejnovější verze vrátit, na starší, čí origoš firmware? 2. Když připojím, ke kvakošovi teleskopku CB, či dualband, zahltí se mi okamžitě. Když tam připojím pendrek, s protiváhou, od CB Alana 42, rázem je to o hodně lepší a dovolám se na CB hotspot, na Vyskoé škole Báňské, která je blízko mě. Zajímalo by mě, jestli jsou stejné problémy, na kvakoších, které vidím na videu, nebo je možné,že mám jn špatný kus. Jinak moje QTH Ostrava JN99CT a OK3MA Martin. 73 a děkuju, za případnou odpověď.
Yesterday i was able to listen-in on a transmission from middle finland to portugal, with my hardware modded Quansheng, and a Abbree 124cm Tactical antenna on the USB 20M band. Strangely i have better receprion on that Tactical antenna compaired to the Telescopic 27mhz CB Antenna from Aliexpress. On the other hand its handy i don't have to swap out the antenna for receiving 2m and 70cm Bands as i have placed the antenna under my roof in the attic.
@@RisingTidesAC I was a bit suspicious about the DSB mode etc. After watching a VK3YE video, it appears that it's an emulation of DSB. Probably relying upon using narrow deviation FM with the Bessell null to cut out the carrier and overcome the hardware limitation too. So with that I guess proper AM is a pipe dream, oh well.
Simple remedy to the keyboard squeaking, spray some WD40 or silicone spray on it.? Incidentally in the NE of the UK it is very windy, overcast and raining.
i have egzumer 22, i might try this ijv firmare soon, please consider to make a basic video that clearly and fully runs through all the features of egzumer such as "complete starter guide for egzumer" and how to use it, and one for ijv? im sure they would get a lot of views cuz more people have bought this tranciever and put egzumer on it over last couple of months and its a bit confusing for beginners, although i am personally starting to study amauter radio topic now.
Very interesting radio. Hopefully quansheng has the capability to bring out improvements without adding hugely to the price. Amateur radio is being kept alive with these cheap Chinese radiod
Dá sa to vyskúšať vypnutím save ..... Šum robí rozsvietený displaj. Rušenie vychádza hlavne z horných bokov handhelda. Je v pásme 3,5 až 6,8 MHz. Subjektíne hľadané Kenwoodom TH-F7. Zapnutá vstavaná feritová anténka. Použitý UV-K6 sw verzia IJV 3.13.
I really don't get all the hype, after all the mods it is still just a dual band radio. I like the whole doin part but . I am buying one to mod play with but I'm just not impressed by any of this just yet. We shall see! Hahaha. It's cheAp soooo
