Why 3 mirrors?! I have received pupils from other instructors who say they need to check all mirrors. In my training I have been told 2 mirrors, centre and 1 other (left for moving/turning left etc)...as a driver this is what I exercise. I don't believe you can adequately take in what you are seeing and be driving forward safely if you are checking 3 mirrors?

Lots of his directions were around the wrong way, for example; turn left at roundabout really should be, at roundabout turn left. Just a small thing but could be significant. Ps Howard I think your videos are really good and informative. Love your demeanour.

If left is the least hazardous why are we checking that door mirror 1st, when entering new road?

I'm a pdi, failed my part 3 yesterday so what do I know, right? Maybe he's nervous because of the trainer in the back but he's manner seems a bit abrupt and not very warm. I'm kind of getting a strict teacher feeling from this video, don't think this is conducive to learning. Yes needs to be way more proactive, as do I with my Q&A. Still great video to learn from, thank you.

Good use of questions but your route directions on roundabouts are wrong it should be at the roundabouts about id like your to turn left first exit and especially the one where your saying at the roundabout go straight on some learners will just drive straight over a roundabouts sayings that it should be at the roundabout I would like you to follow the road ahead then what ever exit it is

Adult passengers are responsible for they seatbelt not the driver!

Could the driver at least make them aware rather than assume the adult passenger knows this legislation? Are we not teaching the drivers of tomorrow to be safe and responsible. Or is everything black and white?

Looking at this, her mirrors arnt great she does check them on approach but to late mirrors before change of speed, mirrors when exiting missed twice and instructor doesn’t mention at all. He need to watch pupil closer. And really put emphasis on mspsl ensuring mirrors are checked first and why it’s important. Also when she does mirrors sometimes centre mirror missed or done after door mirror

I would like to add q&a at the beginning was pretty good but should have carried it on once on the move to get the pupil to think about mirrors on approach

@@alexbaker2023 strange thing. When I did carry it on I was told off for to much q and a. Not by Howard btw.

Cross hands on the steering wheel, very bad habits. Instructor doesn’t say anything.

Good observation. What steering technique would you encourage this pupil to use?

@@How-2-drive Hi Thanks for replying I would encourage the pupil to use pull and push technique. 😊
@elizabethpiercey5587

Encouraging the student to use push pull is fine however, there is nothing saying they cant cross their arms, nor is it a problem in test as long as they have control. They need to be comfotable safe and in control.
