Why drive rather than have a car in each state and just fly? Adding 1200 miles to your car each way cant be great. Plus time is money with all the driving.
1. I like to drive. I stay up there for a while...so it would cost more. Also I have been bringing things down with me ad moving things around. When I stay for short time I will rent a car but you also have to include a flight in there also. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Always look forward to your videos! From your restaurant reviews to educational "how to" and today's personal insights, you never fail to entertain. Thanks for the work you put into posting these videos!!
Always enjoy your videos, we close on our home in Moultrie Creek July 9 can’t wait!!.. I will hire someone to mow but I will handle the fertilizing and chemical treatments with the lawn this way I know it’s done right!!
Thanks Rusty, always enjoy your videos. My husband and I will be staying in St. Catherine hopefully 3 months this winter again, maybe we will run into you.
Train is not for everybody that is for sure. But it was fun for one time. Learned a great deal. Coming in a video soon. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Glad you enjoyed it! I have done a bunch of fishing all over the place up there. I lived on Cedar Lake. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
😂 we have no chinch bugs at our Villages home...because our courtyard villa has no grass! We got lava rock. I have seen lots of Villages RU-vid channels talking about them lately. So your home in Kennett square is 2 1/2 hours from our VA home, but $20 in tolls. It's 2 hours shorter from our house in VA to our house in TV. I think that extra half hour is getting from the northern villages to south of 44.
Yes, please post videos of Longwood Gardens! Haven’t been there in over 25 years. Miss that beautiful place. BTW, there is Philadelphia Club in TV. I’ll bet they have weekly Eagles-watching parties during the season. Happy 4th! 🇺🇸 🧨
I rode the auto train round trip last December when I visited TV. I highly recommend getting a sleeper. Older couples might want to get TWO roomettes because getting up to the top bunk is rather difficult. You can call to make the reservation and request roomettes across from each other. A bedroom has a toilet and shower but also has a top bunk. The auto train + a sleeper is expensive but worth it. It was fun, no rush and no stress. Loved it! The drive from Sanford to TV was very easy.
It’s called a hot water heater because it is a hot water heater. The only time the water in the tank is cold is when it’s first installed and filled. After that the water is always hot and ready to use. Here in TV we have a tankless water heater, which is a completely different thing. We are still on the fence as to whether we love or hate the tankless heater after having had a regular hot water heater our whole lives. A lot of water is definitely wasted waiting for hot water.
Its a funny thing. Like why do you have a driveway in front of your house if you just pull in and park...LOL. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Hey Rusty! I was down in FL two weeks ago for a lifestyle visit. Really liked it there :) But we cut the visit a few days short. I had booked 7 days and that seemed a little too long. Anyway, we took the autotrain back. Booked it Tuesday for Thursday. We were able to get a bedroom and while pricey, it was well worth it. Summer traffic on 95 is not fun! Take care! Love your videos😎
Very cool! I leave in The Morning. I got a roomette so I should be good. Yes it can be pricy at the last minute. Any suggestions? Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
@@RustyNelson Bring food and drinks! And don't even attempt to sleep on the top bunk. Small, hot and claustrophobic. If you travel with someone else get two roomettes. And as with everything, if you can plan. Book ahead and sign up for Amtraks e-mails. My car was almost the last off. Next time I will pay for the priority offloading.
@@RustyNelsonfree dinner and continental breakfast in the dining car comes with sleepers. Dinner menu is much better than airline food. Can get wine/beer etc with dinner. Cafe car has drinks, beer, wine, snacks, etc. 2 bottles of water will be in each sleeper. At the end of each car there’s a hot tea/coffee station. I did bring 2 drinks (that got hot) and a snack but didn’t really need it. I’m in Central Virginia so I had to drive 1.5 hours North to Lorton to go South. Heading North, train went about 15 miles from my house, LOL. When you get to Ashland, Va, check out the houses and businesses that are on both sides of the train tracks. Cool little town just North of Richmond.
Yo Rusty. Hot water heater must be a Philly thing. I've heard that term forever here (I'm a retired Philly Firefighter). We just purchased a designer home in the Village of Poinciana, thanks in part to your (and others) informative videos. Will be back down in the fall (snowbirds). Looking to catch some Eagles games with others in The Villages. Maybe we'll see you there. Go Birds!
Not yet! Came close a couple of times but with such a crazy life I think that I just forgot that is what I was supposed to do. No children that I know of...LOL. Have a great day Jill. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Great video. Interesting subject’s. Enjoyed your aviation journey. Was in the NAVY 74-78 and wish I had went the aviation route then. Have been flying GA for many years and hope once we are settled into the Villages (build process) I can start looking at Leesburg Airport to continue. Thanks again. .
@@RustyNelson lots of Rusty (pun intended) pilots that get back into it. With your aviation resume I bet a few hours of transition instruction and you’d be on your way. Thanks again for the video’s. .
Watched this video while driving from Philly to the Auto train to do my life style visit in the Villages, in the past the Auto train has been a good experience. Now waiting for them to load us on the train in VA.
I LOVE your videos. They are so informative and down to earth. I have learned so much from you and I definitely pass the information along. Hope you arrived safely.
Speaking on my behalf you give out much detailed information on the villages but also what you fail to realize I watch you channel because of your personality!! It’s nice to see some personal insight to where you came from and where your life is at now … hope you had a safe trip .
So nice of you....Thanks for that. Believe it or not I'm packing today to take the Amtrak Auto Train back up Monday morning. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Thanks for your service! Retired ANG here and moved down to FL 4 years ago just not the villages but been checking them out for later. Did our first visit and really loved everything about it.
I kind of stepped into it but backed off. Trust me sometimes I'd like to when people write stupid things...LOL. Thanks for the note. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
