Ps. Skimz coral feeder, is the best thing I've ever bought for my tank. the long tall one it sits in my sump. I use when feeding fish and corals, flipping over snails, blowing things off rocks, moving corals on the sand bed etc. I use it exclusively for everything and just whip it out of the sump for easy use.
I tend to do the same thing, I just bought the new PE Mysis dried food which is supposed to be super good but only time will tell. For corals I've used Polypbooster to start to trigger a feeding response and I can say that it does work like magic, I can imediately see feeding response in a few seconds after using that product, I then feed reef chilli and my corals seemed to like it. Great videos!
Thanks AcuaTV, it sounds like I need to look into PE Mysis dried food as well as Polybooster now... yay, even more things to add to the ever-growing collection, lol!
I like to feed a mixture every day. but never the same really sometimes more sometimes less, I mix up the types too, There is bound to be something in there for everything. I too have 4 or 5 frozen foods for fish, 4 dry fish foods, 4 dry powder style coral foods.
man you have a fish food grocery store in your house... LOL. never thought flakes would work with overflows. Guessing you soak the flakes to sink first? Man that shirt is pretty dope by the way hahaha... keep doing what you do1 Be Eazy!
Yeah I would pinch the flakes and dip my fingers below the surface before I release, or they would go straight into the overflow. I had a feeling that you'd like that shirt! ;-)
Nice video Inappropriate Reefer. I use the same exact products minus the LRS. Funniest thing is right after watching your video I looked into my tank and my RBTA split last night as well.
my fish Love Sustainable Aquatics Hatchery diet pellets.. theyr tiny so have to add em below the surface or else theyll just go down the overflow.. they also love Hikari Marine-S.
Prime reef flakes and Rod's food are my two favorites. Have thought about getting the LFS frozen food before, but idk now. Pretty happy with those two. I've got a couple foods I don't use. mostly just feed my coral ON formula 1 pellets. I think the Rod's food takes care of most of the other corals. May try using my reef chili again sometime. I have 6 frags(gsp,xenia,candycane,yellow birdsnest, and two zoas) so a mixture of softies with a LPS and a SPS. I too was looking into coral frenzy, roids, and chili. Which one would you choose for the frags. I want one food that i will feed once or twice a week... Idk what to choose?!!
I'm a huge sucker for trying different types of food, most of the time they just end up sitting in the fridge. What do you horde? Food? Chemicals? Test kits?
what i use is the reef roids (i LOVE it, i used to use the coral frenzy mix and decided to try it out and everything responded WAY better.) it's funny your fat head loves the LPS food, mine will spit it out after about 10 minutes. my Acans love it though so i just use it on them. im gonna have to try out that flake food you recommend. i usually just feed frozen but it would be nice to get away from that as my main meal.
Good to hear a positive review for Reef Roids as well! So far my Fathead is liking the LPS pellets, or maybe it's secretly spitting them out and I just never caught them in the act, lol. Yeah Prime Reef flake is great and definitely easy to feed, worth a try!
Ok this vid was very helpful. You spotlighted the ME coral food at the 2018 Reefapaloosa and it peaked my interest, did you pick any up? Or what are your impressions of it.?
Of all the food I have my clowns prefer Daphnia to anything else. O I occasionally feed them that mixed with other things. Think it's because it has a crunch to it as it has a harder body and I assume it tastes nice.
Mokyi have you tried American Reef channel's (HPD) High peformance diet it's what Russ k feeds his huge Tangs. You can order it plain , mixed with Nori or reef chili. Tangs really like it. MJ
I started off with the Coral Lab map at 95% intensity, but added a bit more red and white to make the light more white (more camera friendly). Running the light for 8 hrs a day
In the beginning when I started with fresh water fish I had so much fish food, I'd have to give it away for free or end up throwing em out.....Lesson learned....sort of...
Yeah...I have one of those big ziplock bags with a bunch of frozen foods. unfortunately my fish are very picky...One may like a type of food that the others don't. I still try to mix it up here and there for them.
