Cool, thanks, great info, I'm anxious to go back. I'm not much of a fly fisherman, did really well in the past, casting my lures for GT's, tuna, barracudas, snapper etc offshore. I'll hit you up through your website.

if you are referring to COVID vaccines, YES. they are required. the island did a great job of NOT having much infection or death.

Unfortunately nothing short of a flagrant promo of the Government owned former Captain Cook Lodge which was let to fall into a state of disrepair, and nothing short of a resurrection was called for.Nonetheless, the fact remains that the best two Lodges on the island remain Ikari House and The Villages.

@@peterprideaux6 when was the last time you were there? I have no dog in this hunt. yes, CCL is in need of resurrection. But Lagoon View Lodge in Tabwakea was the ONLY functioning lodge on the island from March - May, when I was on the island. Ikari and the Villages had been out of service for years, due to the pandemic. no doubt back up and running now. CIL was in the process of being upgraded, and I scoped out the properties. "flagrant promo of the government"? you've gotta be nuts. yes, maybe the owners have WORKED with the government to make sure of certain things, but if knew how the government works on the island, via the Ministry of Tourism, you'd know the left hand barely knows what the right hand is doing. yes, this property is ADJACENT to what was the Captain Cook, but as pointed out in this video, they are NOT affiliated.

@@peterprideaux6 We always appreciate these kinds of conversations here, but also want to make sure everything is correct. The new owners are out of Idaho and Montana and they have a back ground in running fishing lodges in exotic or unique locations. CIL is not gov owned or run! The owners have worked with the Gov to ensure certain aspects are functioning so that the experience people are expecting can be provided. When other lodges opened they remained closed to make sure all kinks were worked out not only with upgrading of the lodge, but as importantly making sure that flights were operating as needed, fresh supplies were arriving, etc. I think Christmas Island has many solid choices to pick from, but Christmas Island Lodge should be viewed as a Lodge that is doing everything it can to not only provide a first class experience to every guest that stays there, but to also be a steward of the ecosystem, and help stimulate the local enemy in a thoughtful way. Just our two cents.
