I’ve learned it depends alot on the location you are village/town. Before I was married I knew only Kenyans who lived in the deep village, since living in town and having friends here who even offer to pay for things has been such a change! Your right every single country has some of that, I think being Amish and not getting to experience American city life really sheltered me from experiencing encountering homeless people/ slums etc

I was surprised at the description of the Kenyan people..that people all over the world...so I disagree with them...as an American we are considered to be one of the materialistic in the world 🌎... What see is typical American mindset with that state...speak about your and Koree family....not everyone you do not know everyone in Kenya or American

Yes they have very lovely fabric shops here operated mostly by Somalians they have every kind of fabric. And they sell lots of scarves for head wraps to keep the sun off your head when your out.

I was gifted fabric from Nigeria and a dress; a male top and pants for my son that matched my dress when he was young. It is beautiful fabric.

Especially addressing that lack of communication in this specific culture. We are learning to find balance it’s a journey for sure. We hope people will except him, but we are no stranger to not being excepted, so we will continue on with our lives as usual. Remember as much as you would appreciate having your family when you do go to the US, you're both now each other's family and that is what matters most. Sometimes as hard as it is, cutting off family and friends is necessary. Allow God to lead you always by seeking his direction through prayer.

she is sharing her experiences which she is free to do. I have seen Kenyan youtubers speaking about negative things that happen there, especially in Nairobi. Every country has bad and good in it. She will also experience things differently being who she is. People will assume she has money and some might think he married her for money or get to the US. Just my two cents worth

That's is so true she s speaks many positive things about your country but she has to be honest too she is a foreign young lady who fell in love with an attractive young man if she didn't love him she would not have made all those sacrifices and so the work for us to do is to encourage them, many would speak ill of her and many would speak I'll of him but its our job to encourage them as they work hard to see this wonderful marriage worked let's pray for them koree you have to try and do some traveling and see the rest of the world love you both

I'm posting Sylvia's reply below for what its worth. --- Q#7: What is the hardest part of living in a developing country after living the American life? A: "Umm, the hardest part I think for me would be, umm, umm yah, cultural difference but also just the fact of, most people here they have like a poverty mindset where umm, relationships here aren't strong and it's not what I was used to back home umm, having people all around you that you can trust like you can give them your wallet because you trust them that much. Here, it's like people are constantly seeing how they can take advantage of each other. It sounds bad but it's the truth, like it's more about how can I gain because I'm suffering and if you have more than me you need to share with me. And so, I think that's one of the harder parts after of after living the American life coming here. It's seeing how much umm, people try to take advantage of you, I guess. And there's no trust, you don't trust anyone. And that's been kind of hard."
