I just got mine today. Single 12". It sound amazing. I put a S2512 Audio Legion in it. It's a DDX clone. It had the best tuning frequency out of any of the prefab boxes. I think I'm going to brace it and possibly hit it with liquid nails before I use it. For $80 you can't beat this box. It's really clean work also, the liner is well done and the terminal is recessed and even has a gasket so it doesnt leak. The terminal gives you the option of soldering wires on or using lugs that you crimp and solder on. That is a nice touch. I soldered lugs on and bolted them. If it blows apart on me I'll update.

I have this very box in my 2007 mustang and it does sound pretty good. I had a mtx 8500 12” and a Audiobahn 12” in it. Both sounded good. I couldn’t complain.

Yo the first thing I want to is thank you so much for the audio legion maximus review because of your review I upgraded my subs from 2 15inches skar sdr to 2 audio legion maximus 15inches d4 and bro those audio legion maximus have my Yukon Denali xl sounding a 100 % louder than those skar sdr 15 I recommend these audio legion maximus subs to everybody thank you again bro

I pay $88 on Amazon for a Q Power single 15-inch SPL slot Port sub box tune to 37 Hertz and I was very pleased great box it is very close to the atrend Box you run

Bought this box I modified the port its at 35 hertz now . I do build custom boxes for the price can't beat it. I do have a custom 12 ported box on g37 coupe. Nobody makes those 2 much detail calculations but I have 1. Enjoy 😉

@bogartin4561ify if you got a g37 sedan you have lots of choices. I would get dual ported 10 box from Down4sound. But make sure you measure your space is there for that box.

Q power has its own subs for which these were tune to but most people over look their subs and these boxes sells better with several subs such as a few of the Audiopipe, Massive, Sundown E series, Power acoustik Gothic / Mofo and or RE SE series subs

I just ordered one of these to stuff a 12" Avatar STU-1246 D1 into that is pushed by a TarAmps Smart Bass 3K. I am currently running a D4S ProFab 12" box that is tuned to 32 Hz. It is too "peaky" and low (yes I like tuning a bit higher). Hoping this box sounds better! If I break it...oh well...such is the life of a basshead. :)

I have one of these 12 inch boxes With a 12 inch 800w kick dual 4 ohm Rigged down to 2 ohms hits punchy but I think slot ports sound and hit a little better On the lows But for the price you can't beat the look or the design

You can pull subs in n out alot easier if u put threaded insert nuts in it and it'll hold better than just wood.

Yes I do use Threaded inserts in my custom boxes .But the problem is they don’t line up with every sub because the holes are always a little different from sub to sub. Thank you man for the suggestion and thanks for watching!

I would buy this box and modified it . By making the port longer its easy access. Last thing puting a wood Dolly to walls and call it a day. Or spend more money for a down 4 sound birch wood box, that is quality 👌. Last I could build one to taylor fit nice in my trunk . But for the price and little modifications that could be done its a 🏆

Would a dual q bomb box be good for two audio legion subs or should I go with a skar box?

The new skar boxes are better like this one here amzn.to/43uPky7 They are built better and the port tuning is pretty spot on with new skar boxes so they are tuned great. ( usually 33 to 35hz) Q bomb are tuned pretty high usually around 40-42hz. The old skar "carpeted boxes" I am not a fan on but the new AR series boxes are very good for prefabs. This single Q bomb box in my video actually sound pretty good but they dont make that same box in a dual version.

I got a 2 bomb box that has two 12 Kenwood and a Kenwood class D mono amp and my speakers don't bump like that they barely move I think there's a problem somewhere

Check your sub impedance make sure they are wired correctly. If they are then you may just not have enough power to them.

One question that I have is how can you tune a box without a sub to tune it to? Each sub has its own unique specifications so each sub used in a box will respond differently in accordance to it parameters or did someone create a magical box that plays the same with any sub used in it?

Box tuning has to do with the box specifications only. The sound characteristics and requirements of each different subwoofer is a different subject in itself.

That’s a whole can of worms man that’s too long for one reply. You can do some research and read up on subwoofers and enclosure design to find out all the info you’re looking for just too much for me to try and explain on here.

The skar SPL boxes are built well but are tuned higher so depends what n the tuning you want or like.

What's the most wattage can these boxes take? Like can it handle 12inch subs with 2500-4000 rms watts like Orion HCCAs, Deaf Bonce 3512s, and DS-18 Hooligan X12.4DHE?

If you’re talking about 4K real Power, I don’t think that hold up for the long run with that much power. I’d say more like 3k or less.

Theres videos of these boxes rattling apart from too much wattage ! Yeah , if you want to go over 2,000 watts of clean power you're going to need a heavy duty box 💪😎👍

Its holding up to my 55lb woofer 💪 it’s my 12” resilent sounds gold v2 in here currently and it sounds wayyyyy better in this qbomb vs the bbox i had it in choking it to death 😅

But why did Diyaudioguy say his calculations puts this at 34hz tuning frequency and yours said 39.10? I think he did his calculations on winisd

Winisd is not always correct. I use a calibrated microphone and a DaTS which is the most accurate method with true real world accuracy. Not just an estimate like winisd.

@@HiFiVector I’ve began to tinker and dive deeper into the technical specifications of drivers more but haven’t had time yet to study more about box tuning and port relationship.? Are you using the umm6 usb microphone? I’m in the process of making my own test jig for calculating driver thiele small parameters on REW. If you haven’t already played with that app man I really suggest you do it’s all you’ll ever need 😊

@@HiFiVector and ya then in that case you make a valid point and therefore 39hz it is! You know what this means now lol time for a new box I was noticing a higher port tuning frequency when gradually increasing the hz during a sine sweep and the frequency was closer to 36/37 which is higher than the driver so it seems like your calculations are more in tune with real world results. Check next time when you can when you do a sine sweep where does the cone seem to reach its fs d

@@onesikm3DIYGuy uses dats to find what his qbomb was tuned to. It came to 34.5hz which I believe to be true. Been playing some lower hz song lately and my qbomb and 12 seem to come alive around 33 to 35hz

I have this box in my trunk with a Genius audio Nitro 400 rms sub. Rap sounds great but I mainly listen to rock and metal and some songs sound flat. Was looking at Genius Audio Competition 500 rms because it has a lower frequency response. Anybody know of other subs great with Rock music?

That box actually sounds decent for rock music, so I’m assuming it’s gonna be your subwoofer try a sound stream R3 . Audio Legion Maximus or american bass xr.

i want a box that fits the specs for the sub i have if im guna spend lots of money on a system to only be compromised by a sub box id rather spend a little more but i wont spend insane money on a box bcuz of wood type or a better sound that the human ear cant hear
