To me, this isn't even hardstyle anymore. I realise all music has it's progression, but this stuff just sounds like the producers are trying to give you a headache. Hardly any connection to it's origins at all, and the kicks are closer to hardcore techno than hardstyle. This needs rebranding so we can start making REAL hardstyle again.
Sad how hardstyle lost its way and its soul. The only track from this list that retained at least a bit of 'that' feeling of hardstyle of old is Showtek - Dear Hardstyle. The rest is mostly a parade of harsh and mindless screeches passed off as proper kicks. Time to explore other genres, this one lost what made me love it in the first place. Not all hope is lost though, there are still producers who make decent tracks.
Hardstyle went through the same phase 10 years ago, in 2014/15 with generic kick/screech only Raw tracks, but by 2016/17 real Hardstyle with actual feeling (melodic, melachonic, but still hard) begin to came back, combined with the 'return' of Headhunterz. I have trust that the same will happen again these coming years.
its really terrible, ive been listening to hardstyle since the first years around 2003 and loved it very passionatly, but these last few years have been awful.. how is a screech/bliep a beat. dont think you can still call it hardstyle anymore...
I've been listening to hardstyle for a few years, but the last year has been a disaster most of the songs have no soul, little vocal and then rawkick... yh
At this point it'd be best if they just make two seperate top 40's for hardstyle en raw style. It would give the euphoric artist more apreciation, and i'd skip the raw top 40 just like i skip like 37 tracks in this top 40 :/
What the f has happened to the hardstyle scene, how can tracks from Mutilator, Fraw & MC Flo and Unresolved are that popular? (to me it is just hardcore/uptempo) And all these fake drops, my god, WHY?
