Mine broke out of no where..the left side headphone has gone quite.. can you tell me what could be broke.. these are costly headphones and I guess I am gonna try to fix em myself
Got a pair of these, they're so nice. So painful to watch but I appreciate the tear down, gives me insight on how the build is specially how to remove the ear cup foams for possible replacement in the future. Not looking good though for the padding on the band. Would be a challenge to replace that as the cable is embedded in the foam.
@@ToolsElectroDIY keep doing what you're doing, Chief. We need these kinds of videos to check the innards of products for references to help consumers pick the best ones money can buy.
hi. I have Q30 too. But Mine dont turn off automatically when I turned off my Bluetooth from mobile device. It should be turn off automatically when u don't use, but it does not. Have you same issue?
@@orucosmanli5708 yep, does not turn off automatically. Tried it a few times. Left it turned on without anything connected to it for 10 minutes or so, does not turn off. Not sure why it's programed that way. I could be wrong though, but I swear I've left it long enough for it to turn itself off if it has that feature.
Bro I'm doing my research on Q30 and stumble on your tear down and as I watch it, I can't help but think if this headphone were alive and they had a cult, this very headphone sacrifice would bring them the biggest honor of all. It just show the detail like the rubber at the cup and the glue on the soldering although it's not waterproof with the price of 30Big Mac here in Malaysia is pretty amazing for its value. Thanks to your video, I'm very assured when i place an order for this somewhere in the future. I really thought the band was going to snap though with all that bend
05:19 The second I realize, "Oh, so he's not going to be putting it back together in working order again". 😆 After having been using these for the past couple days, this was an interesting watch. Thank you for the insight!
I own two of this model. The problem is, that the artificial leather on the earpads is always ripping open after about 6 months of daily use. Now i finally know how to exchange it. Only the leather, not the foam.
@@ToolsElectroDIY You do need the NC button to switch between Normal and ANC modes, and the 2 seconds touch is just a nice toggle button for transparency mode to toggle between transparency and NC or Normal
@@ToolsElectroDIY it's not a proper touchpad, it's a simple mode switch triggered by sensing the palm covering the cup, I noticed you missed this in your review, but saw it in others; thanks for your reviews, they're great
Regarding the "build quality", one needs to be very careful in handling these headphones. As shown, there are a lot of screws holding the headphones together. In addition, the headphones are fairly heavy. If the headphones are dropped even from a low height, the impact plus the weight could cause the screw sockets to break and the headphone components to split apart. I know this because I broke THREE of them. When not in use, I highly recommend the usage of a headphone case.
Im an electronic engineer , it just says "touch0" (touch zero) it is an automatic labeling when we are working on many electronic components like mic0,mic1,mic2,res0,res1,cap1... etc..... And touch0 is a capacitive sensor , that is why you can activate noise cancel. it is a good design :)
Nice to see the slightly offset and angled drivers with the foam filters. Something I didn't expect to see at this price range. I don't have any anker or soundcore products but I respect them and the brand.
I have the Q30, the Life P3's, and the Motion+. All have excellent sound and build quality...all use the SAME app...and this app is best-in-class. The fact that I can custom EQ every one of these devices using a common app is fantastic. Over the past year I have become an Anker Soundcore fan...for their respective price points...incredible products.
that hole on that piece of foam sheet is for the high the sound from high frequency tune pipe to go thru! it would also be very easy to replace those battery except for the soldering instead of plug which make it a bit of challange as far as I can tell thx
Hey! Finally a good use of the 40ish LEGO pry bars everyone has laying around. Great series too, sealed my choice of headphones, leaving money spare for another few pairs in case they get lost or stolen.
soundcore headphones have a particular design flaw nobody is talking about. The headband leather padding is glued to the frame, once the leather starts cracking the asthetics of the headphone is runined and can't be fixed. My Q30 suffered it and recently i noticed my Q45 is on the way of the same fate;
Amazing! For the price, It's beyond what i could imagine. Very neat build, the result easily surpass the price. The sound and Apps integration also very clean and useful enough. More than what consumer can ask for at this price
Thanks very much cause I have a little screw or peace of plastic jiggling inside after only 3 month of utilisation ( I use it 6 days a week, perhaps to intense) and the support doesn't contact me back for a solution. Thanks to you I think I'll carefully open it and make justice by myself 😜.
I bought the Q30 because I wanted something that was repairable, only to discover the drivers are soldered :( Maybe one day I'll learn how to solder and fix my dead driver!
Спасибо! Жестоко вы с ним обошлись :( Некоторые пишут, что через год трескается пластмасса дужек с внутренней стороны, внизу, чуть выше поворотных креплений. А по звуку мне они понравились.
I like watching another channel that teardowns phones: JerryRigEverything, but for a moment, my heart faint when you pulled the wires. Hahaha. Great content btw! New subscriber here :)
Are the earpads replaceable, and are there any replaceable earpads from the company or third-party ones? I compared the passive isolation of the headphones with my Mpow H12s, and I noticed that the H12s had more passive isolation than the Q30s. I'm wondering if it is because of the earpads or how they're built. Thank you!
I don't know if there are 3rd party ones. if there are, then yes. It is very easy to take off the earpads. I don't have Mpow H12s so I can't compare the two.
I have no idea how it sustained all the bending at the end, mine literally disintegrated in 3 months, it starting chipping out plastic on the first day started where the soft material meets the plastic in the headband
@@ToolsElectroDIY Mine too. No issues whatsoever the past 6 months. Completely satisfied with my Q30. Definitely swings well above its price point, IMO.
You mention in your video those earpads are replaceable. if so what earpads from other brands (and if so what type, brand,...)? Might be interesting since they seem durable headphones
I think the TouchHD is just what's used to activate transparency mode and maybe the NFC chip as well. I wish the hinges were made better, it's a pet peeve I have with many over-ear headphones. They creak and clunk unless I press the headband down against my head (which leads to a uncomfortable fit).
Have 2 broken space 45s tried to take them apart to replace parts and basically fix it, but they started crumbling. At least the broken parts. I'm too scared to take apart the good parts to replace.
Thanks for testing! Great to see. While my order is on the way. Just one more teardown step, may be, even, the first one: water test. Immitating rain or like that.
Is it possible to replace the battery of my Q30? I'm using one for 3 years now and its battery life is only 3 hours more or less. Can I do something to fix it or the only way is to buy a new one?
I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi man, you were one of the reasons I bought this headphone so thanks a ton :) They arrived yesterday and were amazing, but after using them with anc on for more than 5 hours right out of the box, they started making a crackling and hissing sound that only goes away when I turn anc off. So now I can't use them with anc, do you have any idea what's causing this or what should I do? Really appreciate your videos !
@@axzel4038 one of the best investments I've ever made. Battery life is still stellar, sound quality is amazing. Noise cancelling does its job. Overall still chugging, all I can notice is a bit of wear on the ear doing thingies (their actual word is evading me)
My only gripe is that the battery is soldered and not easily replaceable. Regular headphones can last you for decades, These will be thrown away once the battery degrades.
@@ToolsElectroDIY Not in the sense of older cell phones, but the WH-1000XM3/4, for example, have easily accessible (and readily available) battery which has a connector rather than being soldered to the board.
@@jomateix6218 It lasts for many years. I'm not worried about the built-in battery. I don't know any headphone manufacture that supports user-replaceable batteries.
16:46 Hmm... now I understand why I couldn't find a spare part for the headbumper! By the way, a warning: be careful with the case of the units manufactured in 2021. Before, it was rectangular, bigger and with sockets; now it is oval, smaller (which can "squeeze" the headphones) and the headphones are "loose" inside the case, with the right side hitting the left side and vice versa.
Great video but if I may ask, what's the little vent between the hinge and the earpads for? I'm trying to see if I can make my q30 sound better with better bass response
May I ask if you noticed anything different in terms of wiring etc. between the two cups, as my Q30’s seem to have slightly stronger bass and drumkick in the right cup vs. my wired Apple earpods or Jaybird X4 which both sound well balanced.
@@ToolsElectroDIY i dont think they can help. I wont get refund because its been half a year and i tried all reset types and stuff. Its probably just a broken speaker. I took it apart but all wires and stuff were fine
Hey man nice video! I have a Q30 too and the left side is not working the bass, so i was wondering if i could fix it by myself. i'm using it for a month and already broke. Maybe he fell to the ground and took off the driver, If you were me, would you try to fix it? even though I have no experience.
Man i wish you would replace earpads itself, i mean that leather earpads from the earcups, i was wondering if its possible to put velour custom earpads instead (without dismantling plastic part).
Hey, should you remove the foam sheet? I really don't see a point to it, and for some reason i have two in one side. Also, I ordered replacement ear-pads cause these are basically empty, was wondering if I should cut the new ear-pads in the right places where there's a plastic connector so it wouldn't be in the way. And lastly what kind of glue should I use? is super glue a good option?
For what purpose do they do this? I know that they will answer me, it is to know what they have inside. But after all this disassembled, they go back and assemble it? Or do they just leave it like that and that's it? Well, the interesting thing would be that they leave it as it was before. IMHO!🤔🤷🏻♂️🎧
