This was one of the first things I tried when getting my second 960. Running the oscillator out from one unit into the Shift input on the second machine does keep the sequencers stepping at the same speed, but doesn’t necessarily keep them perfectly synchronized stage by stage. Even though I made certain to have both 960s set on stage 1 before starting the first (master) unit, somehow stepping at the same speed, I noticed when the first 960 was on step 1, the second 960 was on step 2. I found that the only way I could keep both units exactly/perfectly synchronized stage by stage, was to run eight separate patch cables from the first 960 to the second, with the “Out” of stage 1 of the first unit feeding the “In” of stage 1 of the second unit, and on down the line for all 8 stages. Was I missing something?
