22nd November 2006, at 7:00 in the evening, Qantas flight 3401 took off from Tokyo international airport, all was well until 7:30 where both engines turned off and the Boeing 747 started nosediving, it had been nosediving for 20 seconds until eventually the pilot was able to pull up the plane and use emergency power but even with that the closest airport (Tokyo) was too far for emergency power to get the plane there so the pilots had to try to land the plane in the ocean. At 7:40, the pilots successfully landed the plane in the ocean but the plane was quickly sinking.
By 7:45 the first class and business class cabins started evacuating but by then the entire economy class cabin was flooded and due to the high pressure the doors weren’t opening so everyone in economy class ended up drowning. By 7:50, rescue boats started arriving to save the survivors.At 7:55, the entire Boeing 747 aircraft got submerged under the ocean.Now all that remains of Qantas 3401 is the abandoned, rusted scrap of the plane next to an random island near Tokyo.
Out of 180 passengers, 35 survived
