Moxy Fox Studio proudly presents "Qaqsoss naka Wahuntuhsis" (Fox & the Tiny Demon), the first animated feature film in the Wolastoqey language. Directed, produced, and written by Tara Audibert, this captivating tale promises to enchant audiences with its unique blend of cultural richness and compelling storytelling.
Set in the unceded territory known as New Brunswick's Wolastoq (Saint John River), the story follows a fox battling mental illness through a challenging forest that represents depression. Her encounter with a Tiny Demon turns into a journey of friendship, resilience, and self-discovery.
This project highlights the endangered Wolastoqey language, with fewer than 100 fluent speakers. Tara Audibert, with her Aunt Carole Polchies from Woodstock First Nation, ensured the authenticity of the translation and narration.
