How crazy that CJ looked at videos of Drew Brees on learning how to be a quarterback. And now Drew Brees is looking at CJ on film. That’s definition of full circle
Growing up, he watched your RU-vid videos, that's one of the ways he learned to quarterback. If you haven't met him in person yet, it would be cool for that to happen ❤
CJ Stroud says that he used to watch your RU-vid videos CJ is the best thing that ever happened to Houston. We're only 10 weeks in. love The way that you explain the game too
Man if CJ and Demeco don't slow down with the wins they will be featured on this segment every week. 😁 Great breakdown Drew I really like how you explain how important it is for a Quarterback to line up his footwork with the timing of the receiver routes so he can throw in rhythm and anticipation even when there is pressure. Also great point on sometimes the best play in the moment is a throw away incompletion, live to play the next down and don't force a throw into tight coverage or take a sack to put you further behind the chains.
Man I love to see this as a Texans fan! CJ talked about how he modeled his game after you in a lot of ways. In high school he used to study your highlights in order to improve his footwork and mechanic. Crazy to see you study his tape now, full circle moment! So much respect Drew.
I am so glad I found out you were on RU-vid doing these amazing videos.. My family is Alumni from Purdue and we are from the Cincinnati area in Ohio and I still remember getting your autograph you last year at Purdue.. I was barely 10 years old and you were such a nice guy and Ive followed your career ever since then. I was pretty upset when they tried to cancel you for standing up for our veterans and our flag.. Your insight into what makes these QBs great is second to none too
You had me until you got to the “cancel” part 😂. The people who have outlawed history to be taught in our schools are the first to cry “cancel”, “woke”, and other meaningless gaslighting.
@@figmilleniumwhat did Brees do besides saying he disagreed with kneeling during the anthem? Because to me that was overblown. I know Drew also works for a scam MLM called advocare, I think that's worse personally 🤷♀️
@figmillenium I'm not sure you're getting what I was saying.. and when did I say i was a Democrat or Republican? I'm an American Army Vet who's voted for both parties but when I see bullshit I call it out.. and what the woke crowd did to Drew Brees was bullshit.. Even Eminem is going along with the culture when he's always been anti culture, when he said "F**k Drew Brees" in that song he did with Kid Cudi
Crazy only 5.4K followers I woke up this morning first thing I did was go on RU-vid and study stroud before todays game and you delivered perfectly it was theb#1 recommended video for me didn’t even think twice clicked and boom ! Straight master class by one of the best to ever do it! Thanks Mr. Drew
I’m still struggling to believe he is a rookie, he plays like an 8-10 vet. Many veterans do not throw with his level of anticipation. I love how he leads his receiver and doesn’t always paint the fence with the on the numbers throws. His awareness of using touch to drop balls over LB and underneath the S, is really great. I love how you mention the footwork, CJ knows that if his feet are on time, the pass will be to. That quick release reminded me of Dan Marino which is incredible. The way he reads the defense and moves defenders with not only his eyes, but subtle body adjustments, before coming back to his target is truly next level. We are seeing a clinic on Quarterbacking here, I’ve not seen anything like this in 35 years of football. I have seen some QB’s that have either the accuracy, the touch, but CJ is all the things you ask of a QB. It was like someone grew the perfect QB in a lab and the end result was CJ. Great videos Drew!
drew brees, as texan fan your my favorite QB of all time. Tough son of a **** with a arm. I wouldn't want anyone else breaking this down to me not even manning
As a Falcons fan I am glad you never will step foot on an NFL field but as a football fan I will never forget all of the great matchups you and Matt Ryan had in what was (in my opinion) the greatest rivalry between 2010-2021ish. Thanks for also putting out these videos because it helps a lot of us outside the football world really learn the sport and hear it from someone that knows what they're talking about. Appreciate ya, looking forward to more of your insights!
Drew yu the man i remember when yu played for the chargers when I was a young kid living in San Diego yu showed love to my city and the youth football .. much love and respect from the heart man 💯🙏🏽
Who dat Drew, great analysis on Stroud. Excited to see such success from him, he's looking so good and it'll be great watching him grow over his career.
So cool Drew Brees is dissecting his game tape because CJ use to watch Drew Brees game tapes in high school because he couldn’t afford to attend QB camps so he would watch Brees tapes to learn mechanics and Brees is now watching CJ tape
They should make a movie of this he used to watch your videos to learn how to become a better quarterback, and now you’re watching his videos, explaining how well he’s playing in the NFL now
Drew got so much love for you man. Being a Texas guy n living in San Diego for 30 yrs. I was at your first NFL game and was also at your last game as a Charger vs the Broncos in game u shouldn't have been played in. People I know in SD Chargers org said had u not been injured Rivers would have been traded. I saw that play u tore your labrum in the endzone front n center. Hated it for u. Being a lifelong Oilers then they left for Tenn I rooted for Chargers. Now a full 100% Texans fan ...CJ is a clone of you bro ,smart like you he has such a bright future. Guide him when u can and props to Austin Westlake. I went to Klein In Houston then transferred to Grossmont HS in San Diego in late 80's... always a fan and love that u love SD like Rivers did. Hope u can get a group together with Joeph Tsai and eventually move Chargers back to their home in San Diego..... #wheretheybelong
Man, it’s so awesome that we live in a time where all time greats (Especially Drew Brees!) can have their own RU-vid channels, and continue their love for the game by spreading knowledge to others. Great stuff.
im very proud to be a Texans fan right now. and im so glad the Drew Brees likes CJ and we hear him talk aboht him..its just really great to have Drew Brees on here bracking down the play. im have been a fan of Drew Brees thanks for liking our QB CJ STROUD 🙏
Drew thank you so much for the 15 amazing years watching you suite up for my beloved saints. I will always say you are the greatest qb to ever play the game of football. Brady doesn’t have anything on you. You were such a great leader on and off the field and when the ball left your hand it was like a work of art. You are truly the goat in my eyes. Sincerely thank you for all the amazing memories and I can’t wait to follow you on your RU-vid journey. You will be great on anything you decide to do.
Hey Drew, just dropping by to say I'm a huge fan of yours, both as a player and as a person. Your career and personal journey are truly inspiring - it's the kind of story that deserve to be told in movies or books. I know you've hung up your boots as the Saints QB, but man, we'd love to have your presence on the sidelines next season. Your experience and leadership would be a huge asset. Peace & Love. WhoDat forever!
Future QB's can learn how to read film in grade school bc of videos like these, that's crazy, when i was a kid i was locked outside all summer, now kids have access to everything.
Just so you know, I was watching Seth Payne and he commented on your report on CJ and that’s when I looked you up. This is vey informative and educational for this fan. Seeing the plays from the eyes of a Super Quarterback. Thank you.
So glad I found your channel. Was searching for a video about CJ Stroud and found something better. Thank you for your deep assessment of his technique and abilities. Was more than i expected. I'll be watching more. Keep up the great work Drew.
Thank you, Drew, for everything you did for the Saints ⚜️ and Louisiana. We ❤ you and miss you so much but understand about the arm. Praying it will get better. 🙏 ◡̈⋆ⒽⒶⓅⓅⓎ😊 Thanksgiving to you and your family. 🦃
Love what you're doing Drew... But please use the same energy when speaking that you do on TV. Speak a little louder, more intensity and and with more emphasis for this platform. This is going to be an awesome podcast to follow. Keep up the great work.
Before that seam pass to Dalton, you could see him audible something to Noah and Dalton, and Dalton turns his head to CJ. Perhaps he recognized the coverage. Noah shortens his route, and Dalton waves to CJ that he is open. I think the look to Tank was to turn the safeties' attention to Tank.
I use train people to fight and the most important things is footwork footwork and more importantly FOOTWORK CJ footwork is so superior because his footwork is the game within the game!!
That second pass shows why he's got so few INTs this season. His passes are so safe. He'll risk a drop or incompletion to put the ball where only the receiver can catch it and trusts the receiver to make the catch. He's so successful though because while he has a cannon for an arm, he's also a sniper. He can just as easily thread the needle between two defenders on a 10 yard slant as he can drop an in-stride dime on a 40-yard post.
General management moving on from Deshaun to Stroud in a little over a year is insanely impressive turn-over for what would have buried lesser franchises and coaches in rebuilding for years. Happy for Houston as a lifetime Eagles fan that hates everything Dallas. Stroud will be the best QB in the state of Texas for years to come
