My Dad was Irish through and through. He had a beautiful voice and growing up he sang lovely Irish ballads and drinking songs. I promptly went to Kindergarten and sang "Whiskey in the Jar", must to the consternation of poor Miss Browne. 😁
Goes something like this... My name is McNamara. I'm the leader of the band. Although we're few in number, we're the grandest in the land. We play at wakes and weddings and at every fancy ball. But when we play at funerals, we play the marchers' sull (spl not sure what that word is). Dodedoo, de de de doo. Dodedoo. .............. That's all I remember of my mom singing it to me. Love my Irish roots.
I’m in England and only stumbled across the QCSB today - I’ve now watched all the videos - this one 4 times! wonderful music that just makes you smile👍👍👍
I was born on St. Patrick's Day. This band is just awesome and Jimmy struts his stuff just as proud as can be. Jimmy is truly good looking and has us women swooning over him. I thoroughly enjoy hearing and seeing this whole string band. They are great.
