The main board of the QCX+ from QRP LABS was completed tonight 08/21/2021and set aside while I start to assemble the front panel board in this video on the main board are shown some of the techniques used during assembly . I am pleased with the QCX+ to this point in the assembly .
I did find the resistor color coding confusing and difficult to discern the colors painted on the blue resistor bodies was hard for me to determine the values but my Fluke DMM quickly resolved that issue . Note I forgot to mention in the video that I used my grounding wrist strap when handling and installing the IC's my work shop here is in the basement which has a rather smooth concrete floor this reduces static as well ... 73 Bob

I just received this kit in the mail today. Should be a fun kit. I have already built the QCX-40, but wanted another project. That is a really nice built kit. Winding the torroids are a touch of a challenge! But it is a good performing radio. Nice to see someone at your age doing all this. I'll be 66 OCT. 2022 (This year) but I enjoy doing SMD soldering and kit building. The change from 3 color bands on resistors to four color bands keeps me confused. I keep a reference chart on my bench all the time. 73 WB7DUO

Boy Bob, QSL on those blue 5-band resistors being hard to read! DMM checking is mandatory and, like you, I am always populating my kits with the more readable parts when necessary. How do you like your QCX+? I got a 20m and 40m one (after building the original QCX) and have built the 40m version. It's decent because there's a lot of real estate there. But tweeking that damned LPF to get 5 watts out is a real tough deal.
