QD Clinic - Lessons from the clinic My approach to diagnosing neuropsychiatric SLE (AKA lupus cerebritis) QD Clinic is sponsored by RheumNow.Live (March 19 & 20, 2022 in Las Colinas Texas)
My daughter got ECTs and she stopped all of the psychosis. She got a pulse first. The ECTs were a miracle for us and they are noninvasive with no side effects.
I have had psychosis on two separate occasions both during a lupus flare. I have anxiety, depression, headaches, fainting episodes. Recent MRI shows hyperintensities in the white matter and a microbleed. They discovered that my carotid arteries are blocked by 90%. They are not sure if it's vasculitis or atherosclerosis. I'm having a hard time understanding everything. Should my doctor test spinal fluid? I'm on Plaquenil and aspirin. I'm also on antipsychotics. What can I expect? Previous use of prednisone caused AVN in both hips and knees. Bilateral THR at age 32. I'm 45 now. What should I focus on or pay attention to?
