I have to say every time you show Qi La la he becomes more and more enjoyable to watch. I really have enjoyed the progression of him becoming a stronger fighter. It really shows what a person can do with an open mind and a whole Lotta training and determination. Good for him. I thought he did really well in this fight.
Yeah. And being completely fair, I probably missed a kick and three punches in my significant strikes count for the Muay Thai guy, but that still puts Qi ahead.

Prime example as to why I HATE headgear. I would have loved to see both these guys add some more strategy to their tool sets. Both are already are game for war, just need to employ more tactical choices and we’ll see some killers in the future. Another great commentary Jerry 👍 P.S. Yes! I'm starting to really like Qi La La. Good for him for adapting to the ever changing concepts that constitute martial theory. It's what SHOULD be done. Knowledge through observance and application. And Kudos to you for this channel. Objectivity is key here, even when it is very hard to stray from your own perception of pugilistic reality based on what you yourself have witnessed and practice. I know it sounds cliche, and many moan and groan about this statement...but I still find much truth in it....."It isn't so much the art or system, as it is the practitioner, that makes the technique work.".... So many people argue that the afformentioned statement is merely an excuse that "weaker" styles use when they see constant ridicule and defeat after being tested against controlled ring bouts, and "real world" scenarios. That simply isn't so. Yes....some systems are weaker than others simply because they teach outdated techniques that put the student in danger when against even an "unpolished" streetfighter (just for example). OR.....they endanger the student even more by the false sense of security the teacher brings to them by keeping the mystique surrounding said system in the curriculum. If the student is taught that the style is invincible, they would never prepare themselves for what could really happen once they engage against someone who might know what they are doing In terms of physical confrontation. But all that aside....I've seen old karate guys knock out BJJ black belts. The right kick at the right time is what did it. Doe that make karate superior? No. But it does not make another art inferior, either. (well....save for aikido....so let's say for "the most part", then). Qi La La is definitely someone that loves Wing Chun, but also knows that no system or style is complete. He just loves WC, warts and all. And he tries to make it work and has an open mind while doing so. THAT to me is a huge part of being a martial artist....simply because you are defendi ng yourself with knowledge learned from application...not from false pretenses that could be seen as dangerous if one treats them as gospel.

I think that's closer than we think! With vr in the "spotlight" and more companies investing in RND for vr related tech, vr is going to advance faster and faster.
This was a great match in amateur kickboxing rules for both fighters. I'm really curious how Wing Chun would go against Floyd Mayweather's Undefeated Philly Shell style boxing specifically... If it can even go against at all... I mean the chin is tucked by the shoulder, as well as a shoulder roll from any left hooks and attacks.. The right is completely guarded by the right hand and arm for the body.. The left body is guarded by the left arm..There's basically no center line to attack for WC because the Philly shell is having the shoulder pointed sideways against the opponent's center line.. For advanced PS, you can roll out and use pull counters even if you’re backed up against a corner.. It's basically a whole defensive wall and has been used against elites with no one to beat it (at least for Floyd). @@baterg2344 I’ve already watched it.That video just shows how similar moves of Wing Chun like Bong Sau is to the movement of a shoulder roll. There’s nothing really to it other than rolling your block and shoulder to mimic the Philly Shells Shoulder Roll. It’s like saying Instead of throwing a jab with my palm downwards, to throw it vertically and it’s like Wing Chun straight punch.
@travis To be fair Floyd is the modern day “Master” if you will of modern martial art of boxing.. better yet a defensive master. I usually compare traditional and modern to like guns. I’d rather use a Fully Automatic AK-12 Rifle than a 1900s bolt action single shot... They’re both guns yeah but one might just have the edge regardless of who uses it lol..
Qi lala is not a practitioner of traditional wing chun is a fighter who is adapting and updating the style, but this is good because it complements the style that is very weak.

@@martialartslifelonglearner6461 very simple blunt blows that knock out the opponent, the wing chun punch is short against fighters that punch straight, and in this video he applies it like a boxer but with jeet kune do’s wing chun punches, which it's quite effective by the way, so that's what I think, that wing chun needs new combative elements and elaborate blows.
As someone who trained in both Wing Chun and Boxing I would have adopted more boxing defenses if I’m fighting with boxing gloves. Wing Chun parries require a bit more dexterity in the wrists since it operates best in closer range. Still, Qi La La was good here.
I think wako is like iska, they dont only bcount significant strikes and blows landed, they also count aggressivness, ringmanship and form, they way Qui LaLa was striking may have worked aginst him in a decision, I know it sucks but thats the kind of stuff that influences judges , i got decisions that were questionable, its common
idk man. it feels like Qi La LA should've won. i def do get a kick out of watching him in action. it feels like he def knows at minimun Siu Nim Tao and Chum Kiu , spent time working the movements over and how he can apply it going into a kickboxing situation. while he wasnt the only guy to do this he's certainly getting himself out there now. i wonder Qui La La has ever taken a look at FMA, probably irrelevant if his aims was to strickly use wing chun. little bit of my lineage bias makes me curious.
