Sabalenka's grunting is startiing to grate. She groans longer and longer and even prolonging the noise seconds after the ball has been hit. It's now become tactical for her. Easily best in tournament but something should be done about her sounding off like this..

Sabalenka deserves this. She was a ferocious ball striker when she first broke through on tour but she had two big weaknesses: her movement and her second serve. She put in the hard work and fixed both those aspects of her game. Other players should take note.

Watch sabalenka were you watching, she has not fixed her foot speed,she does not need to because she can over power most of her opponents,coco has her number and she will be beaten on slower courts by coco in 2024.Sabalenka is a slow moving power fitter, the key to beaten her is move her around and not be intimidated by her and she will fold.

yeah me neither. 8 minutes of highlights were bearable though. Wish they would ban the grunts since you don't need them and most grunters do it only to hide the point of contact which often gives away clues about slice and power.

This has gotten to max ridiculous with such grunting. Not even Sharapova was this much and was already very controversial. Not only that, but she drags her noise all the way until the opponent hits the ball back and this is allowed?! What's happening?! This is literally hindrance in every single point played!!!!

Nothing to say on Sabalenka's power. Honestly I don't like this kind of brutal tennis without any kind of variations but seem it works. Regarding grunting....it's incredible that no rules about it were provided in all this years....a match like this one is unwatchable!!

There are many people who don’t like Arina Sabalenka’s screams. Thank the sound engineer of the Eurosport channel for this, who increases the sound level of the microphones on the tennis court and reduces the sound level of the commentator. Spectators in the stadium do not hear such loud, annoying noises.

Aryna would have won this tournament regardless of who she played. In a different league to Zheng at the moment but great tournament for the youngster (albeit a favourable draw) and a real prospect for the future.

@@TheLmpowerI think Swiatek has far more to her game and a higher ceiling but Sabalenka, Gauff and Rybakina are all strong at the moment so it's not going to be easy to dominate. I think Gauff out of the other 3 has the greatest potential for improvement and may end up Igas main rival down the line.

Nope. Zheng actually served extremely good, she even hit 6 aces, Sabalenka simply dismantled her serve with her power like it was nothing. Aryna Sabalenka simply was the better player in this match.

This is why Grand Slams should have women playing 5-setters. I only saw Zheng's SF highlights and I could see that she was going to be blown away by Sabalenka. I'm sure if we had 5 set matches, the likes of Swiatek and Rybakina would be in the semis and we wouldn't have a one-sided dampener of a final.

I said yesterday of Zheng lost 6-3,6-3 she will have done well! I predicted a crushing defeat due to Sabalenkas brute power. Hate her game n grunts to be honest! Love Zhengs game, its like beautiful Chinese Calligraphy, especially her inside-out forehand! Amazing stroke, but Sadly, I knew the real final was Sabalemka v Coco Gauff in the Semi! 😢

I don’t hold anything against Sabalenka but that grunting can’t be for so long. I can still hear the grunting when I watch the opponent hit the ball. Don’t get it why WTA haven’t reacted already. Djokovic did that once I believe it was in Wimbledon 2023 and he got a warning for it. I can’t watch the matches of Sabalenka because of too much grunting

grats to both of them but... they should start making some rules about grunting. zheng is about to hit the ball back and the grunting is still going on from Sabalenka. would find it distracting af. Also by that grunting u expect every shot to be powerfull so also kinda misleading sometimes, and kinda annoying to watch. just my perspective.. again grats to both of them

Don't get me wrong, Sabalenka is probably the best female tennis player currently. But this match wasn't about her playing good, it's more about Zheng being very nerveous and playing poorly, making a lot of mistakes. At least she has experience now

Sabalenka grunt has 2 issues 1) It's too loud 2) It's too long, it lasts until the opponent hits the ball. Start giving her penalties instead of allowing her to do this shit and being rewarded because she annoys her opponent. The fact Zheng earns millions from this tournament and players like Ruusuvuori only some thousands is ridicolous. I would never watch this match live, but apparently a lot of people pay to watch this level of tennis and hear a player scream for the whole match.

To be fair loads of players have loud ‘grunts’ both past and present. Seles used to get loads of stick for it. Murray does it often, Nadal + Djokovic also although maybe not as extended. Personally doesn’t bother me. If it bothered the players I’m guessing they’d have the rules changed.

@@blueanteaterr I know it and I think as a Rafa fan than he should have been penalized in the past. He was always against shot clock and had an argument with Sonego at Wimbledon for his grunt.
