It turns out the thing that was rattling around was the catch on the box. It appears mine was cracked at some point so a piece came off. Doesn't matter since I'm not taking this FTO anywhere where it needs to be super secure. Also, please excuse the watermark in the bottom left corner, I forgot I had that turned on!
In my opinion Qiyi has the best aesthetic out of the modern FTOs, but my favourite is obviously the DaYan, i got mine on Friday and i have been spending HOURS solving on it
Wait, QiYi is making one too? Wow! Such a bonanza of hardware within 6 months. I'm glad there are more options now, but I don't think the QiYi looks like the one for me. I really don't like the tiled look, and with the size of my thumbs, I quite like the larger size of the Dayan. I do hope they offer some alternate tile colors, though, so people with color vision limitations can customize like they do with 3x3 stickers.
@@TheBookDoctor This one isn't a sample; the QiYi FTOs have been out for several weeks now. And I agree, the DaYan is still the best for me too. I wonder if perhaps we just need a company to make a stickered version so that people with colour vision issues can change the stickers 🤔
would you recommend the qiyi over the dayan i dont have any ftos rn and the dayan is a bit to steep of a price for my first for me so which one would u recommend for an absolute beginner?
@@ColorBlock11 hard to say I can't recommend the QiYi or the Diansheng for anyone who wants to speedsolve FTO because DaYan is so so much better. That being said if you want a decent FTO as a beginner, then either the Diansheng or QiYi is good enough. The Diansheng is smaller and smoother but the edges pop out a lot, it performs well but those explosions can be devastating. If you'd prefer stability and reliability at the cost of a slightly blockier puzzle then go for the QiYi. I have fast times with the DS and QiYi so they're still usable, they just hurt my hands and fail to perform at the same level as the DaYan
@@ColorBlock11 you'd want to Florian mid to reduce the catches, and the springs are very short so there's not a lot of room for tensions You could get by on the QiYi just fine as a beginner though
@@EddtheRexMan I've done spring mods before so I don't think that that is a problem and I wouldn't be able to do a florian mod. I'll get the qiyi one thx for the tips man rlly appreciate them
