I know this is a old video. But I'm 49 years old and have played off and one for years. I totally agree with everything you have said. New markers are ridiculously over priced! I can buy 2 AR15 for the price of some of these markers!! So I think it's about time we get back to the roots. Slow the rate of fire. Worry about tactics and having fun. GO FENIX!!!!
Same here and I’m 50 playing on the fields on and off for over 20 years …. I can get those high end markers if I wanted to but I like the idea of spyder Fenix and it can compete against hi end markers . Bad Company shoots Souder back then lol . I’m a old school guy .
@@BlackSpade72 that’s what azodin was made for a spyder that can compete against high end markers but it’s a tired and true spider thing will break down when you least expect it
This video sold me on the spyder fenix. I picked one up along with the cp1 barrel and hush bolt for an office paintball party with coworkers all just settling for just using rental equipment. Very happy with the purchase.
I have to say; I looked for the better part of 3 weeks after my previous comment and other than the earrape children reveiws this is the most fair review of this marker I have seen.also the hatred that theses poor babies get now a days can only be addressed on the field. And I address it.. a lot.. I made a dude with a luxe 10(yeah that’s right that luxe 10) ask me what the hell I was spraying his bunker with. When I showed him he looked at his luxe and set it down on the table with out a word. But he didn’t look happy.
Love this video still 5yrs later. Bring back Spyder Cup!!! Also currently working on a custom 09 Electra project right now can't wait till I finish it. Kingman/Spyder will always be apart of paintball and paintball history love em or hate em they've made great beginner markers for years and years and every single paintball player had a Spyder at one point or another and they can still be fun to shoot today.
Spyder, gotta love their use of metric and proprietary air lines that always break at the asa. I still own two because I love paintball, and it's nice to have a back up marker without breaking the bank...
Correction: the Azodin equivalent of he Fenix is the blitz 3, which cost $170. You showed the evo 2, which uses azodin's zero system to drop the pressure to 225-250.
I bought an 09 spyder electra on a lark for $90 new in 2011. Was impressed with it's ability to keep up on the xball field and even used it in some practices for the 15bps league I played in at the time. But since my 3 year hiatus from the sport from that year till 2014, its just been sitting in my basement. I always considered getting it running again and the tech t bolt if i could find one somewhere. I already have a spyder threaded freak back. I think you've convinced me here. Any tips on how to get the most out of this dated platform?

Hey I have the same gun, Actually got it after watching this video. Mine with the eyes on does not work at all you can shoot a ball then pull the trigger again and it might shoot in the next second. but I chop zero balls with the eyes off as I have a hopper that feeds faster than the gun can shoot. but it will chop the last few from the hopper since those gravity feed into the gun. Any ideas?
Rich Dead I have DP E1 and while it's not bad I'd recommend something better if you're gonna spend $200. That being said you can find them used $100 all day
Get a mask first, then an hpa tank (never use co2) then a gog extcy for $200. The extcy is technically tournament ready and has upgrades that will allow it to compete with some mid range markers as well
actually the fenix is only $30 less than the blitz 3. You showed the EVO 2 which uses a low pressure valve and azodin's zero system to achieve an operating pressure of 230-250 psi
Yes, but with a TechT bolt the Fenix can drop its operating pressure from 450psi to 300psi with the EKO valve and still achieve field velocity. I'd still say the guns are in the same class, they're both on the higher end of blowbacks currently being made, just the Blitz Evo has flashier milling and a nicer stock barrel.
qmto after you adjust the velocity for the Tech T Hushbolt? Or rather, what was the most brittle paint you used that didn’t break in the marker when making this video?
I got the Hush t bolt for my 2012 and it doesn't want to shoot unless the eyes are off and then I have to pull the pin back every time.... Did you have any problems?
I don't think that issue would have anything to do with the hush bolt. I'd check the hammer oring, and if all the orings on the hammer and bolt are good, check output pressure on the regulator.
I say most of them in the review. The electra had an on/off asa, and a two piece barrel, but the barrel was a large bore one, not really much of an upgrade. Other than that, the electra came in gloss colors, instead of dust, and cost $100 more than the Fenix. The Fenix is a much better value.
Like I said, getting a techt bolt, which allows you to back off the spring and regulator pressure a lot will greatly reduce kick. Getting a small bore barrel will also allow you to use less pressure to get the ball to field speeds
I have a question may i have a paint ball gun im starting a rookie team and i dont have a money and my last one blow up the co2 broke and it froze the pull back snaped and the frame cracked and a chunk broke off im just asking if i could have a good gun i dont have to be new just i need a air tank that takes air compress and hopper and gun im just poor and my team needs me
Ions can be found for pretty good prices, but may take a bit of work to get running properly. Try looking for a used 98 custom and if it has any problems then take it to your local pro-shop/field and see if they will fix it for you
