Great reaction QoFy! Voctave is like listening to a full orchestra! There’s so much going on, especially towards the end... it feels like you can’t listen to it all at once!
Man watching you react to them is pure bliss! The fact that you actually react musically is awesome. Many say responses but have nothing musical to say. You nailed it. That dissonant chord towards the end. The amazing Kate. The bass. All the middle notes. The Hebrew. The capturing of different characters and the sound of slaves at the beginning. There is SOOO much to say about this song. Great reaction! I’m glad to have found your channel. Musically geeking with ya man!
I have watched so many of your reactions to acapella groups and honestly, I think this is the most broken I've seen you. This Medley is amazing and needs to be heard by everyone whether they know the movie/musical or not. Great reaction, I'm glad it broke you like it did me!
I was three for three from that live stream (if you remember lol) i superchatted two old school voiceplay songs (i cant believe it ft emoni and young and beautiful ft deedee) and now this one from voctave... he he... you should just have me make a list for ya....lol
I honestly dont know how I missed this reaction. I've been QOFYGANG for a while. I am working on a Prince of Egypt cover playlist and this reaction popped up and it was so much fun. That magical chord (or rather dischord) is a vocal jazz trick. If you go back and listen to The Manhattan Transfer, its a style of chord structure they perfected and used often. I would think you could listen to the first minute of almost any of their songs and hear them use this and it just creates so much tasty tension. Now, having listened to a ton of covers of these songs, I can say that this one is the gold standard for Prince of Egypt music as a whole. Hans Zimmer is a genius at writing and the actors and fill in singers they used for the movie were amazing for sure but the things Jamie and Voctave do with this music is pure magic. I have heard nothing better.
Glad to see you react to this one! Sam Robson has covers of some of these tunes as well (Heaven’s Eyes, The Plagues, and Deliver Us) and it’s cool to see their different takes on the songs. Definitely check those out if you haven’t!
Great (hilarious) reaction as always 😉. Voctave hits you every few seconds with insane harmonies, i really thought they broke you this time. "Disney showstoppers" really showcase the basses. The "Christmas waltz medley" is soooo good, it's with Once upon a december from the disney movie Anastasia.
Another great voctave reaction! I recommend How great thou art - Tiffany Coburn ft Voctave. Tiffany is one of the sopranos of Voctave and also has a few solo albums of her own. This is one of the tracks off one of her Albums and it features Voctave. The level of talent these people in Voctave have is borderline scary at times and this particular cover of How great thou art is no exception. Enjoy!
