QoS Overview | Cisco CCNA 200-301 

My goal for a while has been to spend at least 1hr/day on something CCNA related, on most days that turns out to be 2-3 hrs once I get started, but, on days when I am just too wiped out or brain fried to jump into new material, I like that I can come here and watch a video or two on some material I have already looked at from other sources. It's great review and I always get a new twist or perspective on the material, and I can meet my goal in a way that feels more like entertainment than work. I have said for a long time that I don't expect anyone to "really" learn something in a first exposure, but there has to be a first in order for there to be a 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and this helps with that. Thank you

QoS has been one of the most difficult topics for me. The level of details you approached the examples made it easy to grasp. Thanks for such a great content!

Keith you made me cry. Watching you enthusiastically describe components of QOS just reminded me of the old days. I was a networking guy (backbone engineer) in the early 2000s, dealing with frame-relay, atm, qos, bgp isis, ospf, mpls and edge services like firewall, LB, proxy and so on....this days people might say I'm doing fine as a cooperate security guy. I truly miss those days of just being an engineer. Sadly this days due to automation plus point and click I've met some people who know where to click but can't describe the internal workings or structure of a packet or protocol. Thumbs up, I really love your infectious enthusiasm for the subject.

Living in another timezone, i can't really watch live content from the other side of the globe. But i love being able to watch them later.

On a QoS session, he couldnt control talking about DNS, Subnetting, data encapsulation. So much to talk.and so much of energy..Keith, you are such an amazing guy....may god bless you and give you more strength and positivity in days to come.

at 3:50 after he mentions the great strategy, reminded me of what J Peterson has also said in the past, start small, but keep going.. even if you only do 1 hour a day of training, do 1 hours of good training, but also consider the accumulative event of each week, think about it.. 1 hour a day literally everyday.. that's 365 hours a year on something that you could be becoming great at! but also have the discipline to do 1 hours a day very day for a year..

Oh man, the whole reason I clicked on this was never addressed. The binary. I recall it being elegant how the first 3 bits in the diff serv field instructed the last 5 bits (something like that), and was hoping to find a refresher, and NO BITS WERE MENTIONED. 🤔😉. Either, thanks mass for all of your time and enthusiasm, Keith (I definitely got many good laughs out of the video).

easiest way to translate on specifical traffic is . going to the club, people comes with VIP Tag no need to queue but normal IC/driving license holders without VIP card need to queue. 😄. And Thank you Keith . . always happy to learn from your lessons.

Honestly I think Keith Barker is the best trainer. I signed up to CBT Nuggets just to see his content. I like the other trainers but honestly Keith's way of training is top notch. I never seen any other trainers teach ipv6 like the way Keith does. Network Chuck is awesome too.

Woah Keith! This was awesome. Tons and tons of information just in one hour. Very thankful for this video, it's much easier to see how this works in your video as I've struggled understanding it from the book. Can I possibly suggest a Kahoot quiz for QoS? It would really help me see where i'm at on understanding this and i'm sure others would see it as beneficial.

Thanks for the video since I was struggling for some time about QoS. QoS is widely used in our company for VOIP packets and therefore, understanding , troubleshooting them is critical for WAN related issues. I have quick question... How does WAN optimizers which are located at network edge are going to honor the CoS marking example would be Riverbed devices... It is fine to speak about Cisco devcies but how does Riverbed devices are going to relay the CoS marking to next device (edge router) - the question can be considered silly but my understanding from this class is that it should be defined at every device along the path of the packet... I don't think Riverbed has provision for CoS markings. Hence, my question... Edge router honoring the CoS marking, with no marking of packets from Riverbed....

Thsi was a good session and i like and learned alot. As a network engineer my job is 90% or more pratical. So I like the info but I want to see an example in the CLI on how to implement what a trainer is talking about. It really annoys me who so many just yap on for so long but do show the pratical side of what they're talking about to connect the dots for the learner. You have a good topology on screen, how comes you dont have it as a lab and talk about a subjet then show how to configure it.

Man I've never met a subject that kills me more than QOS ,I'm not sure I want to know this ,I'm having my exam on 16th of may ,but the way it looks I'm already ready to fail ,took odoms books to read,and I got stuck on chapter one with questions on TCP/IP lol ,unreal ,after all the labs and studies I still don't know jacksh**t :D :D
