In one of your last videos, you were talking about not to zero beat someone. If you have a chance on one of your next videos, would you mind explaining thank you for the videos
Yeah, I can absolutely do that. For now, Zero beating is when you tune exactly to someone's frequency. It's okay to zero beat on the receive frequency, but you want to transmit slightly off frequency so that your signal stands out from the pileup. That can be accomplished multiple ways......move the VFO slightly, use some RIT/XIT (or clarifier on a Yaesu radio). You could even put the radio in split and tune VFO B off slightly from VFO A. Lots of ways to do it. How much to tune off, and in which direction, can take some trial and error. Sometimes when I'm hunting I have to move up and down a little before I find a place where the activator pulls me out.
