Hahaha no, a "Gawa" is a word we use to say about people being trashy. It was, as well, a word they used back in the days to describe some MetalHead when the Mullet hairstyle was at its peak. Like, if you wore sweatpants (joggings), had a mullet, listened to metal, smoked cigarettes, drank beer, smoked weed and lived a "i dont give a shit" life style, you were called "Gawa". So, when you say "J'me pensais Gawa" (and i thought i was Gawa), it's like saying "i thought i was tough enough for that trashy lifestyle, thought i could handle that".
