Enjoying the videos, However while the written details on screen are great, but way to short on screen. I get half way through reading them, and they go. Please at least double the time words are on screen.. Thanks..
Pretty sure I saw this exact train as you were making the climb out of Uranquinty towards The Rock. I live in The Rock and was heading north towards Wagga. Seeing the classic EMDs thundering along with smoke billowing out was certainly entertaining!
The highlight of my day is waiting at Watergardens station (to catch the PTV shift box train to the city) when the VLine N class loco pulls up at the platform right next to me. The reverberations through my body when it throttles up to depart is awesome. You can literally feel the power. I think I should have been a loco driver 🙂🍺🍺🍺🇦🇺
Thank you for this incredible behind the scenes look into your work life. I especially enjoyed the footage of Wagga where I currently reside. There seems to be some controversy here over the inland rail project which is building a major freight terminal in Wagga and hoping to cater for double stackers throughout the entire route. It is reported here that the planners somehow forgot to factor in the two bridges near the station one of which is a quite recently built road bridge and the other a pedestrian bridge. I am not expecting or requiring you to comment on this topic and just my only way of telling you that Inland rail may now be delayed further while our city planners decide what to do about the situation. Thanks again for this most amazing video and I look forward to more in the future.
Last I hear thats why they did the freight terminal at bomen for the time being. They may drop the track down, who knows, I should leave that one to the experts. Haha
@@AUSSIETRAINDRIVER yes, that is a proposal, however, the fight is over the cost of the solution and compensation to the city for the unexpected upheaval to the city and the requirement to move the station to accommodate the lowering of the track. Me thinks there are no experts to be found at the moment. Thanks for your reply to my original comment.
hmm interesting to hear your comment's about the inland rail project John, I live in Benalla and there's been nothing but "issues" ever since it was announced that artc were going to remove the bridge access to the station over the original standard gauge line, there is now a lobby group and they are expecting artc to "fix" everything to "their" liking
@@davidblowe9096 I think the issues are arising because of lack of transparency and consultation with the communities impacted by the project. This is widespread in three states and promises no end to the delays and cost overrun.
Fantastic Adam. I'm so impressed how you can keep the speedo in the high seventies but without going over the 80 speed limit - great skills! Thanks for sharing.
That was amazing Never thought I would be that excited to see The Rock again. Grew up in Wagga, Albury and country NSW moved away a long time ago. Was amazing to see places I knew so well along the track. Even seeing some and thinking I used to ride my bike along there when I was a kid. Didn’t even know the Wodonga line had been relocated. Used to drive past the back of the old Glenrowan station when going to a mates house. Quite the trip down memory lane.
Wow what an amazing video. I like the country scenery, the many grain silos, the sidings and waiting locos. The video gives a good insight into the day to day work that a train driver undergoes and the way that the train is controlled. I also like the historical input when it comes to varoius location.
Filmed on a phone! Wow excellent quality. Certainly thought the line from Junee was a bit of rock and roll until you got onto the Main South, and it seemed even more bouncy! Loved the video, well done.
Austrailia should pay you for promoting tourism. Funny story. I used to be a mailman. One of my customers owned a "hotrod" shop. He spoke with a definite accent. I asked him if he was English or Austrailian. He was quite pissed and replied he was "Aussie", and not English! I did not make that mistake again.
Hahaha I wish! Yes I can see how you'd get mixed up! It's not far off the pommy accent, but a bit more basic imo. Although others think we have an accent, I feel like ours is pretty plain. Haha
@@AUSSIETRAINDRIVER I thought they were rocking a bit but good to know the track is...average. Noticed the N on the passenger service was humping along on the other track.
My mother’s family come from Uranqiunty and The Rock. I still remember when I was a kid and popping down to the rock where the boom gates used to be manually operated. Thanks for the great footage and the memories
Many thanks for this. I worked on Rail in Junee from 1969 until the Roundhouse closed in 93. Then to Parramatta for Freight Rail. I wasn't aware how bust Harefield and Bomen have become. In my day they were just busy refuges for the long interstate freighters to cross the equally busy passenger expresses of the day. Riverina, Daylights, SOP's and Southern Auroras. Not to mention the mails. Great days.
@@AUSSIETRAINDRIVER Main reason why I retired. Was a regular Nth East Driver and got sick of the Horrible track. Was visiting chiro's every day off in Melbourne I had! F*ing joke ARTC are.
Love the videos man. I love cab ride or drivers view footage. Would happily sit and watch pure unedited cab ride stuff if you uploaded it. Keep an eye on the time that the text overlays are up for. The one for Wodonga went off screen too quickly to read it in time. Took 3x skip backs to get it. Keep up the great work
james black, if he leaves it on the screen longer he may get people commenting that it was on the screen too long to see the action properly. i just use the pause or reverse buttons. i also noticed that the last line of text was too low and off the screen. then i noticed that my screen was set wrong and raised it up. all fine. my fault.
Enjoyed your video, thank you. Can you please explain to a layman how you restrict the combined power of all those locos so you don’t break the coupling on the first waggon?
We don't restrict is at such, but there is a Max allowable dynamic brake amount on the head end. We have to watch the Ammeter to ensure we don't destroy the train, and be gentle with the equipment.
@@AUSSIETRAINDRIVER Thank you. I am aware that some of the Pilbara iron ore trains have locos mid consist presumably to spread the power out along the train to limit the force on that first coupling.
@@AUSSIETRAINDRIVER ,back in the late 60's dad, who drove steam then sparks, took us kids to puffing billy. he knew the driver and had a chat with him. we were sitting in the carriages and he said "he's not a very good driver, he's too rough. you've got to be smooth". off we go. the train crossed the trestle bridge then there was a bump under the carriages and the train came to a stop. the loco was off in the distance and the coupling was lying on the tracks. we had to walk back to the station. not happy.
Goodday Adam, CL Bangers king of all kings of a loco after Big George. They are just magnificent at any angle seeing them at Emerald Grain we are spoilt. We are lucky to have them rolling coal after 50 years of service. Great video as per usual Cheers Louis 👍
