Crew cabs have a huge back seat, granted. No one who knows trucks is unaware of this. If you don’t you probably don’t belong in a truck. But it amazes me how many people like me have crew cabs and I think would be much happier with an extended cab. I’m older, do woodworking as a hobby, and I have no crew. The crew is grown and gone. And we also have an SUV for hauling groceries and the occasional back seat passengers. We definitely do not need a truck with a huge back seat only to give up that foot of much needed room in the box. For one thing our older passengers, including my 103 year old mother, cannot climb up into a crew cab truck. And they don’t appreciate being asked to. My problem is that nowadays it’s hard to find an extended cab with the equipment I want. Dealers have gone almost 100% to crew cabs. I wonder how many old guys like me buy a crew cab simply because it’s all we can find.
If I could, I'd buy a quad cab sized truck with a baby 5'8 bed for the shorter wheelbase. Chevy and Ford used to offer trucks like that, but then stopped. My usual go-to is a regular cab short bed, but ALL manufactureres have stopped making those so I guess I'm SOL.
simply amazing how a vehicle THIS size can have a cramped backseat. He’s 5’9 & he’s gotta sit hunched forward in that backseat, head touching the roof and all. Such poor engineering of space.
Not really? It’s a quad cab, that’s what a quad cab is, it’s a truck with a 6’4” bed and a 140” wheelbase, if you want more interior room get a megacab
