Having said all that, I liked the QC tone better than the amp. It was a bit warmer, not s bright, thin, or ice picky. Maybe that’s because of the mic position.

You should try a 906… best thing I ever did was stop using the PA guys 609 and bought a 906… so much clearer.

The reason the amp sounds like it has more dimension than the QC is because it does. An amp has more than just tone and distortion. It also has dynamics that change over time, caused by bias excursion, sag, damping factor, dynamic speaker impedance changes, and many other things. QC uses machine learning to capture the tone of the amp. But machine learning models can’t capture things that vary over time. For example, they can’t model compressors, chorus, Leslie, etc. That’s what we’re missing in QC is the time varying dynamics of the amp that depend on how hard we’re playing, what frequencies we are producing, the harmonic content of the strings/chords, etc. It’s incredibly complex, and the whole point of machine learning is you don’t have to understand the physics of what produces the tone. But it doesn’t capture the dynamics. Fractal and Helix do model the amp dynamics. So that’s maybe a difference to consider.
