We were enjoying Kos so much, we decided to stay a few days more, and moved from three nights with a harbor view at the Astron (highly recommended) to the more affordable Pantheon Apartments, a block back from the Dolphin Square. To fill in the day, we rented a quad from the rental shop by the Dolphin Square. We rode from Kos Town to Mastichari Port, and back to Agios Fokas Beach. Pretty much went everywhere we could without moving up to a car or really big bike. Sorry about the background noise.
The rentals for motor bikes and quads no longer have a traditional clutch and gears - they have a centrifugal clutch and one gear - forward! Sort of like mini-bikes of days gone past. We checked a couple of places, and no one had a bike with a clutch and shiftable gears. The 250cc quad we ended up with was OK on flat territory, but would struggle on hills, having only one gear. The suspension was pretty rough, too. Next time, we will be in a car or on a real bike, just because of the suspension issues inherent on a quad vehicle.
We got into a bit of rain, which came in a few squalls, separated by cloud breaks and sunshine. A day later, a more severe storm front came that canceled the ferries out of Piraeus for a day, and giving us an extra day on Kos! We ended up seven nights on Kos, before moving on to Symi Island.
