I request for a few month, on this site, for some demos in order to make a run movie. I was redirect to the Defrag World Cup that just begin at the same time. Now, few month later, I am proud to present you some of the best run made during the Defrag World Cup 2008 by some of the best player. I want to thanks all that make it possible, the world cup administrators, mappers, players, and others.... For other informations, check the readme file. I hope you will like it!

@incanu7 It's a feature of the maps, where certain walls have been textured so nades explode on impact, you can save vital RL ammo by doing this so it can be very useful. You can't do this in any of the current QL maps, except on doors.

@tiggerbiggo It's a mode for Quake 3 Arena/Team Arena that was made specifically for trick jumping, run maps, and things like that. It's fun and very hard.

What is the version of the quake is the appearance of a weapon or the appearance of such a quake do? For instance looks like this saw at 3:30 or this plasma in 5:50

these maps are made in like 2007-2008 for competitive defrag, most quake maps were made between 1996-1999

@KittenIgnition I've never done any mapping, didn't know it worked like that. Quite clever really, either way it's not just some crazy glitch, it's part of the maps.

@Interuptification under quake 3 skins. dark blue plasma, and chrome weapons (i think). theres normal chrome and theres -blood, the -blood one isnt the one used here. i cant really see all the weapons, but it looks like chrome to me. not 100% sure

@Interuptification you need to make sure it starts with a z (z-whiteblade.pk3), or it wont load. same with all other custom files.

@fraggedICE ive never done this kind of mapping either. ive never even gotten doors to work, but if you play the demo, you can hear the sound thats played when movers (like doors) move.

@Interuptification its 3 hq modifications -metal tech , high quality quake (hhq) ,and chilly quake - anyway why need weapoons -normal players remove weapon from screen

@fraggedICE erm... arent the only things that you can detonate nades on, movers, like doors? im 99% sure that theres no other way, and that any map that uses GL-jumps like this just use doors that dont really move at all.
