I think this marks the first time I've seen Minecraft elements in a Quake map. Half-Life 2 maps, sure, but not an engine this early (even if this is enhanced over the original). I've even seen a Quake level remade in Minecraft, but not this way around.
I guess it makes sense. I played with GL_TEXTUREMODE GL_NEAREST so it had all the right look too. :p Though seeing a lot of the common textures in the liminal jam, they seem to be well designed to look right with linear or nearest. Nearest kinda having a more late 90s PC games look but linear fitting pretty well and having more of a PS2 look. The original quake textures look kinda butts with linear though.
I was about to ask what this music was, because it sounded so darn familiar yet mysterious... but then I got my rough guess correct. It's from Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun. The track is Ion Storm.
This one had some neat looking areas. At first I thought I was a bit clever that I'd found some secret path right away that just briefly went off somewhere then rejoined the main path, that I opened the map a second time only to find out the other door doesn't go anywhere, and that that was just the way to go in the first place. Some of the platforming was pretty tough but not too bad, although I almost ended up save-scumming the end of the "editor windows" room, though I got it the last try just after saving. I basically don't play Quake or many games so I'm just not super familiar with the movement.
