This is the first race I've seen where they stopped it to carry out road works lol. And they did it rapid! Not like on our public roads where it takes them months to fill in a hole.

I m very glad Nascar put these video and i praise them for. BUt since i regulary watch nascar race now, I figured how the production is not efficient. The focus on a driver when you get plenty action from another one is really painfull. ( i take example when they focused Logano and meanwhile K.Busch was putting a little show around in earning multiple positions at the 30th min of the video) it's maybe a fan favorite but as an european, i would ever favor the action. I think you can spotlight a driver and a sponsor easy enough in a show off several hours.

I really wish Atlanta Motor Speedway what have a road course race like Charlotte Motor Speedway in Sonoma Raceway called “the Atlanta ROVAL 400” like the Charlotte ROVAL 400

An Atlanta roval would be redundant because there's already a road course in the Atlanta area called Road Atlanta. It's owned by NASCAR via IMSA Holdings LLC., annually hosts a major IMSA race called Petit Le Mans, and was actually on the Xfinity Series schedule in 1986-87.

Just out of curiosity, how often do the race tracks get re-paved?

It really depends on how the racing is. If the racing is good it’ll usually last 10-15 years, but if it wasn’t done well or the racing sucks they may do it sooner than that. Atlanta hasn’t been replaced in 24 years which is a long time.

The speeds on oval courses are too high for the safety of drivers. Road courses are slower due to shorter straightaways and many turns which is safe enough to race in the rain with rain tires.

they do race in the rain but only on road courses, in ovals it would be way too dangerous.

I'm just curious as to why these racecar drivers have to so hundreds of laps a day or how many they actually have to do a day?

In testing per day you can probably put down 1.5 or twice as many laps as race day.

@@RustyWells2 he can voice his opinion however he wants. If you can’t respect that, you shouldn’t have a platform to voice yours. On an unrelated note, I noticed something was wrong during the broadcast, but because I’m new to Nascar, I didn’t realize it was Jr and Burton. I do like that they do some commentary here and there, though.

@sdstewart87 in my opinion nbc is better because the fox booth was just annoying at some points. Jeff kept laughing at Clint and mike was the only outlier that was serious. In the nbc booth, you barely hear anybody laughing. Everybody is mostly serious and they focus on the race rather than the outside stuff in the world.

I wont say terrible but there is just too much dead air time. Too many moments wherer seconds will go by and nobody is saying anything. And when they are talking they are many times missing what is happening on the track. I like the team. I just feel like there could be more fluidity.
