Yanni and Zain are pretty close to the same level, with Yanni plenty of time to become even better, but I couldn't help but to wonder what kind of wrestling programs they have in little, tiny Cuba that could give such a domineering NCAA champ such a battle? Regardless of the outcome, that first flurry of points by Valdes was impressive.
You have to understand that zain was never known for his amazing takedown skills although he his very good on his feet, he was amazing at running legs and being absolutely relentless on top literally grinding faces into the mat. In freestyle much depends on the feet and quick turns there isn’t a lot of time to run legs and do the slow torture that zain used to do in folk style.
my guess is that there were no points awarded for the 3rd gutwrench because Zain did not get back to a defensible position before the 3rd gut. or they just dropped the ball somehow. I'm not really sure, looks like it should have been 8-0 though
zain is worse than a bad wrestler. he's keeping a gold medal contender from competing. can you just retire zain you will never compete at this level with any success. if it was going to happen you should have already done it. its over. go coach or something
@Vaidas after watching all the matches he would have got bronze. there were alot of really strong wrestlers. rashidov would have torn his arms off. zain didn't belong there. hopefully he can figure out how to beat zain for the olympic spot
