The Monday of the Galway Racing Festival, the focus is on the qualified rider. However the qualified rider story runs deeper than one day in Galway.
Doctors, vets, students, stable staff, investment bankers have competed in horse racing via this route. Many trainers and professional jockeys have also paved their way in the industry, through the qualified rider pathway.
There is no mould. This is an equal access sport in every sense.
