Someone else that shares my love for bibles..... treasure on earth! I love it! 😍

I have purchased so many bonded leather bibles before I knew what that meant! I’m trying to clarify which premium bible I want for my birthday (or Christmas) Many of us buy a $1000.00 iPhone every few years. We can purchase a premium bible, hopefully because we will be in it daily.

After about a year of looking I finally settled on the Schuyler Quentel Firebrick Red Goatskin NASB 1995 translation. I love this bible mostly for reading. For studying I typically resort to Olive Tree Bible software because it is so easy to switch between translations and click on references that take me right to that section of the Bible without flipping pages. I also have the big ESV study Bible with its brown leather cover when I want to delve into more details for study. The Schuyler is my favorite and I bought it before they run out of the NASB 1995. It was hard to choose between the blue and firebrick red but I am happy with what I got from them.

Yet I have recently wanted to change things on how I mark up my Bible and was contemplating ordering a new one. I was completely oblivious to premier Bibles and this is like a WHOLE NEW WORLD for me!!! This has definitely trumped my Chic Sparrow research and has dramatically decreased my desire for another Chic Sparrow (as you can tell I found you through watching your wife...when she said she lived in a church and ran a house of prayer, I was hooked...as I love ihopkc and night/day prayer all that comes with it!) This is a fantastic and thorough informative review. I don’t like the yaps on the Allens and I wasn’t prepared to pay a $70 shipping fee to the UK for the Schuyler. I decided on the Cambridge KJV Concord Reference bible in black Goatskin red letter edition (standard) and I have no regrets. I absolutely love this bible.

Balanced review of quality Bible binds. Thumbs up! At 12:16, there is a reference to Evangelical Bible as the publisher of Schuyler Bibles. I think Schuyler is a Netherlands-based family-run Bible publisher. AFAIK, Evangelical Bible is the sole distributor of Schuyler Bibles.

Just now saw your post, David. Nice work, brother. I too like to support good Bible publishers. And when I find one that meets my criteria I'll scarf it up. Have given many excellent Bibles away. Here is my criteria for the best Bible: 1. The Greek "Received Text" and the Hebrew Mesoretic Text of the King James Bible are the manuscripts historically traced back to Lucian of Antioch; and before him, John in Ephesus who gathered all the manuscripts. "The doctrine of Christ" and "the apostles' doctrine" is complete. All other translations-incomplete, even blaspheming Deut.4:2 & Rev.22:18,19. I've read a lot of verses, brother, where "they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." "But the word of our God shall stand for ever." 2. Wide margin is a necessity for notes as we create our own reference verses that fit the doctrine under study. 3. Reading fatigue: sharpness of print and the bleed-through from the opposite page: crucial for long-lasting study. Lastly, lose the incidental music, David. It weakens your words, brother. Being a musician since age four, I know the psychology of how music weakens the intellect. Warming the heart for a moment is not a lasting moment. And in Deut.18:9-13, "enchanter" (v.10) forbids hypnosis in all its forms. And your background sound dumbs down, as it does in Walmart & does not edify, even during sermons. "Remember," Jesus didn't have musicians following Him around "as he taught the people."

One can make a unique Bible. A KJV TCR wide-margin (1988) with bonded leather was rebind with Ironed Calfskin, and 117 lined sheets both sides added for the purpose of notes, articles, charts, and etc. A true study Bible to last for many generations!

I love the Cambridge bibles! I have a Turquoise in goat skin, a Cameo in calf skin and an Emerald in French Morocco leather. Lol, I do the same thing, I love looking at pictures of premium bibles. 😁

I have seen them ALL!!!! The length was just right, you made it personal, but not weird. Lol!!! IF you know what I mean! Nice to hear women enjoy nice bibles also, AND there's something for them. Her blue may have been a little girly, but it was still a beautiful blue color! I am not a burgundy fan, but I love brown, blue. That green you had, AND the red in Cambridge. I would love the Allan you showed in brown or black only, but the smaller Cambridge. I'D love in green, bright red, or black. I think people limit themselves in color bibles when they are kjv only. Love your variety. I'm looking to purchase my 1st premium bible. But I refuse to buy another used premium. I want it brand spanking new. I'm a preacher. But I also have OCD n ADHD, SO that 2nd edition flaw would have driven me nuts! I would have had to send it back or just not use it. Lol!!!! Glad they fixed it on the 3rd. You should consider rebinding. There are some Bibles at a lower price that are pretty good, but with bad covers. Just get that cover replaced.

wow , i think i now have a huge desire to collect as many bibles as i can . i dont know why , i own a Hardcover 2012 edition Barnes and Noble Kjv , Compact 2013 TGS large print Kjv, and about 20 copies of the 2016 Thomas Nelson paper back Kjv bibles for anyone who comes over my home, or to give to anyone without one. I just wanna fill my desk with as many as the lord lets me afford .i love this video so much

Here in South Africa its not really a option to buy a bible with a real leather cover due to how expensive they are. A very small portion of the population can afford those, importing from Amazon is also not really a option due to how expensive shipping is and import tax. You often see people with bibles that are all taped and glued together. My parents both still use old hardcover bibles for prob + - 30 years now. My first hardcover that I got in 2007 is still in use, I have had to glue that bible together a few times though haha. These are all AFR53 translations.

While, thank the Lord, we don't worship the Bible as do the Muslims with their Koran, I still like to make the word something 'special' in the same sense that we want our houses of worship to be special. I say, please don't consign your beloved Bibles to a closet or a dumpster because their covers are shot! I have an old RSV from college days in the 70's that had bonded leather that fell apart. A trip about 25 years ago to a good binder (McSpadden in OK) and it's been a joy ever since. My little pocket-sized NASB has traveled in my suit coats on a daily basis since the mid-80's; it's now on its third binding. I have an RSV-CE Bible today that I love but it only came in fake leather. Solution? A good Bible cover, which will double the life of it. Great video.

Have you looked at the ESV Heirloom Study Bible by Crossway , its a big Bible , it’s goat skin very high quality line edged , smith sown etc , I’ve just bought one , fantastic quality study Bible with incredible notes and information for studying and lyes flat straight away . I’m like you I also have Schuyler as I too believe Gods word is worthy of quality

Curious what you think of the NRSV? I have a very nice Cambridge goatskin in burgundy. Since purchasing it I’ve heard negative comments on the NRSV Bible. Would love any input. Thanks!

Video is well done. I have a Holman NKJV Study Bible, with soft leather-touch. It has been my GoTo Bible for more than 3 years. I've never had any wear or tear. Besides I treat the cover with Armour All. I have a calf skin CPB KJV Thompson Chain Reference, along with 20+ other Bibles, and I treat it with a leather cleaner protection agent. Take care of your bibles and they will last a lifetime.

Praise God for your love for Gods Word! Thank you for your work in these videos. I too love Gods word and desire to have the best that will last , stay together and stay open. I’m a preacher who likes to walk holding my Bible folded in my hand. I can’t find at my local Christian bookstore what I want. I do own a few CBP Bibles but really they are too thick I wish they didn’t have the concordance in the back which would make them slimmer to hold comfortably. I’m very interested in the Rl Allen line of Bibles. The Black highland goatskin thinline longprimer 43 and the Clarion 7C black. Yet I’m not sure they are thin enough to hold one handed folded while walking and preaching. My Wife thinks I’m crazy to buy these two Bibles that will cost over $300 for both. But I won’t know until I have them in hand. I’m wondering if you have any help for me. NKJV or KJV I hope I haven’t bothered you. Blessings. Pastor Pat

Actually the synthetic leather is good quality depending on the company Tyndale and Barbour have good quality Bibles at the same time I have a Zondervan and a MacArthur study Bible from Crossway the covers didn't hold up at all seems like its a hit or miss type of thing.

Your wife has my sympathy🙃. I live in SS , so cannot imagine buying so many expensive Bibles. No matter how beautiful they are... My question... I have fairly severe glaucoma... Reading has become a real problem for me.. I find Thst I have to have really large print, or what I’d called giant print. Although I read most books online, or listen tomaudiibooks, I don’t like reading scripture that way... I like to hold my Bible in my hand...and the ability write.. What publisher...or Bible woukd Yiu recommend for someone like me? Knowing, of course, that I can probably buy only one premium. Bible..

Hello, I know I am very late but to those of you who want a premium Bible but don’t want to spend of $100 dollars, there is a online Bible store called “church Bible publishers”, they do however only make KJV but if you prefer the kjv you are in luck.

I own both an Allan's KJV Ruby and a Longprimer. Both going well and great quality. Sure they cost a bit but they'll last donkey yonks. I bought a Cambridge Pitt Minion for my wife who is a bit rougher with her Bibles and it's proven to be almost indestructible.

You should think about promoting some smaller book binding companies that rebind people's old broken bibles. That's what I do. I live in Corpus Christi Texas

I am here, a year later, same guy, trying to get your attentiopn, again. BTW - I also love high quality Bibles. Best deal (for your dollar) seems to be Church Bible Publishers. Their copy of the Cambridge Turqoise is the best deal on a great BL reader's edition. I am dissapointed with the NEW Cambridge Turquoise BECAUSE: (1) it is published in Holland (2) it no longer has genuine INDIA paper (3) it no longer uses Cambridge red for the words of Christ, but the darker red that appears in all Jongbloed (Dutch) Bibles. I like the bright red you will see in a few editions of the Cambridge RL Turquoise, but you will have to find one made between 1992 - 2016 to get a Turquoise with the bright red. I also wish I could get that Bible with a bright red (matching) cover, and red-under-gold page edges, and an 11/16 YAP. FINALLY, I have a copy of the rarest of the rare, and I am so trying to find another (old/used/GC) one by internet that I can afford to buy. It is the Cambridge Turquoise, red letter, LECTERN edition - French Morroco Goatskin OVER BOARDS, with a big gold cross on the front cover. It is model 20D XRL. My Faith Family posseses 2 of these, and we still have the boxes, from 1992, when we originally bought 5 of them. The other 3 are SOMEWHERE, I suppose, and if one of those people will offer to sell theirs, I want to know about it. I am new to this list - but as soon as I learn how to use my wife's smart phone to take photos, and send them to myself by email, I will show it, with ample photos. I am JUST CURIOUS as to why you do not have a Dake's Bible. In the late 90's editions you can get tyhe bright red letter edition, and it is one of the most important publications of all time on Pentecostal issues. I have my problem's with Dake's Probationism, but I havbe learned not to spit up the whole meal just because one of the courses is to sickening to eat. ANYWAY, if you do n ot care about or react to the *issues* addressed in my book, you are either a very lazy lousy Bible scholar or a flat out reprobate. Yes, it's all that simple, my friend. Thanks for your video.I am looking for a new Bible, as mine is falling appart (bonded leather Collins KJV from 1975 given to me by the people that first studied with me before I was converted) and because I am going to be moving to SE Asia for a few years. I like the looks of the Allen and the Schuyler Bibles, and I prefer KJVs (I particularly like Schuyler's Canterbury KJV!) but I want to make sure my Bible isn't too big and heavy. Any recommendations?

I really wish you would do a review of the Cambridge french morroco large print bible. A cheaper bible. As these bible's are way too expensive for the average customer. Love your channel. But these are way out of my price point.

My brother, love your collection, I myself have the Cambridge concord goatskin red letter edition. KJV is the only bible that is pure and perfect bible word of god minus the corruption within. Original manuscript since 1611, any other version is corrupted to make money. That being said it’s a very beautiful collection and it’s good you have varieties, just keep in mind only KJV is pure and real. The bible materials are good but not important, it’s the text and what’s inside the bible that is important. God bless.

You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars for a decent Bible. I have never understood the need to fold a Bible into contortions either as long as it lies flat i.e. sown binding so leather covered card is fine for me. A Calfskin Trinitarian Bible Society Windsor text only (printed by the same Dutch house as the Premium Bibles) is about $35 or $50 for their Westminster Reference. They are all the Bibles you will ever need, the paper and more importantly their fonts are beautifully clear and by buying them you are supporting the distribution of the Word.

How do you feel about the "leathersoft" material that Thomas Nelson uses for their bibles?

Wish they would make the Cambridge WM in the flat spine again... does the new ones lay as flat as the one you have?

Hi, I have a 22 yr old Bible that has been rebound twice because the quality is not that great. It is a 1996 Jack Hayford Thompson Chain Ref. Study NKJ Bible. I prefer black letter bibles myself as well. Red letter lends itself to the idea the Jesus' words are more important than the other words.

I noticed that your NASB WM has he flat spine. I have a new edition with the rounded spine, I guess, and it seems that the interior margins on your edition is wider than the newer edition. Have you noticed this? It really disappoints me how little the interior margin is on my Cambridge.

I really appreciate it this video, and your testimony. Did you ever look into the Bible version issue? I myself am a strong King James version Advocate. There's a book called New Age Bible versions by G.A. Riplinger. Very interesting, some of the points that she makes regarding new version corruptions. Just something to consider. Bless you.

Any suggestions for a premium Bible for me? I like Bible's that fold and have goatskin. Also I don't want a massive one (something I can take with me everywhere everyday but not as small as the Pitt minion) also I like esv best but nasb is ok for me as well.

Yeah just got my wide margin this morning and it's nothing like yours. I wish they made them as flexible as the one you have.

You need to check out Local Church Bible Publishers. I have not seen a higher quality Bible produced by another publisher.

That bible at the beginning looks just like my wife's old Bonded Leather Thompson Chain, that thing completely turned to mush. Kirkbrides genuine leather is way better, I love my Thompsons but still want one bound in the good stuff some day.
