Best interview to date Donnie period. He describe the city well and the murder stats of the time vs size of the city at the time show he ain’t being extra he being factual.
He definitely hit some points and Just innocent killing disrespect of all women and morals and values and snitching on each other Robbing each other too much senseless crime got to worry about covid-19 and health issues employment and affordable living .. if we could just treat someone with love and respect and we can start there....
I helped painting smittys Benz, cobalt candy blue. Corvette concepts was the place I worked at. Around the time NWA busted out, maybe 87 88. I remember him and his crew would pull up in jags, with the block cell phone in the back seat. Be like three jags with four of his peeps in each one. Fools wouldn't pay us that owed the shop and work slowed on smittys car. He pulled me to the side and he gunna take care of me and whoever else helped work on his car. And he did very nicely. When he came to pick up his Benz he got out of I think a rolls royce, might been a jag, but he had atleast 10 of his guys all around the car, plus three of the hottest women dressed in a whole Lotta nothing with him. All three hanging on smitty. He'd tap his right hand man on the shoulder then he tell the rest of the guys to tell the man how badass his car is. And they all went off in a friency telling smitty how he is the man and how badass his car is. This went on for about 60 seconds then smit tap his guy again and he shut everyone of them up. Then told me to come here so I did. He got his guy to thro out a strap and a half($1500) to me on the hood and then a half zip of ,well you know as well. All this in front of a customer at the shop that was a active dps trooper. I looked at smitty and said there a trooper right there scoping all this out. His exact words were white boy you earned that scratch and the bonus, put them both in yo pockets and don't worry bout a thing. Then looked at the trooper and said fuck the police. Trooper never said a word to me but sad thing was that was the last time I shook his hand and saw him again. To me he was a straight up badass hustler that you do him right he gunna do you right even more. Rip smitty, your missed by many no matter the color of skin.
I went to school and after school care with quanell son back in late 90's and he moved militant af. When that nigga would pull up he had a whole team and was serious as shit, very intimidating lol
He is right about that Northside vs Southside .. it was like war between those two sides of Htown. They was knocking off hella boyz back then and a lot of Colombians as well. Especially when those Rosewood nikkaz started hitting up boyz from the South, the city was out of control, just like it is now.
I'm 51 as well from Dallas, but I got family in Houston. I remember very well the way dudes took the back seats out of their slants, regals, or whatever and had all the 6X9s in the back with 2 punch 45 amps and no woofers. Sounded like Maze was at Dussen Park on those Sunday evenings.💪🏿 Good memories
You should check out his debates on Houston Fox 26 News, on topics like White supremacy and racism. He’s intelligent, articulate, and his debating ability and message is top notch.
In 1988 I went to HTown to visit my father on the Southside. My country slow self saw my teenage step brothers hustling & stealing cars. Thank god for allowing me to get deep in that mess.
🤔🤔🤔🤔 yep real shit never get views, only if you on ratchetness and turnt up, well you know how it goes. And there's nothing wrong with the turnt up and ratchet aspect of things, cause there is a time and place for everything and anything. It just sucks the most attention is brought elsewhere
