Talked about these at the club meeting. Everybody would like to have the same radio like these but we might just go with ones that have been around and more members have handled
The backlight on this radio stays on while scanning and there seems to be no way to turn that off. This irks me so much.....Such an oversight. I tweeted Quansheng about it. They said the demand is low so they won't be providing firmware updates for now but will let us know later.
Can be used with cross-band repeater, or using only through radio cross-band intercom. First: When A Radio TX UHF band, RX VHF band, when B Radio TX VHF band, you can use B Radio to call A Radio. In this way, A Radio can TX U n RX V cross-band. Second: You can set for both Radio A n Radio B using same TX n RX frequency, but TX n RX frequency one for UHF and another for VHF. For example, you set 450.250 TX, offset frequency 300.000 through Menu 8, offset direction -, same for A n B Radio, then you set A Radio`s reverse function using F n 8 fast key. Then you can cross-band intercom.
Yes you can unlock 220Mhz, however for Tx you need a 220Mhz antenna, current antenna good for 2M / 70cm, MURS & GMRS. SWR on 220 is super bad as expected, can hurt finals.
Hello, please send me your email address, I’ll ask my colleague to send you 2 free samples after April 15th (we’re out of office for HONGKONG Fair). If you want to keep your info private, you can write an email to: fay@qsfj.com
In the Power-off state, press the PTT key and the side key 2 at the same time to power-on the radio. The other radio should be powered-on in the same way. Press EXIT key for the receiving radio, and press M key for the transmitting radio. Wait for 2 minutes for the screen to show number 120, and then shut down and power-on the radio again, transmission completed.
We`re working on adapting to CHIRP, but not ready yet, maybe about 1 month`s time. Hope everything goes smoothly. If you need programming software, pls leave your email address or send an email to: fay@qsfj.com I`ll ask colleague to send you the software.
The sound on air band is horrible! i was trying to listen to tower on 120.255 MHz and at the same time i could hear another corespondent in the background which was 4 MHz higher. Air band is total disaster.
Its a bad radio, and an apparent excuse to install spyware on your PC, in the name of a "firmware update". In reality, I want evidence that the firmware in this radio is upgradeable at all. BTW, the 'air band" audio is uncopyable. Programming all 200 memory slots is nearly impossible; definitely impractical. It's junk.
