Quant Interview Questions | Probabilities of Minimum and Maximum Functions 

Mathematicians often don't prove statement A directly - rather, they show statement A is equivalent to statement B and then prove statement B.
In similar fashion, it's often not enough to "know" high level concepts in probability and statistics - rather, being able to make equivalent statements that are much simpler to solve.
