Great video. Speaking from experience I was luckily enough to go down the part time route, with my employer paying the fees. The experience working whilst studying was crucial propelling me further into the world of quantity surveying. If the option is there I could not recommend this route high enough!
Interesting video. It would be great if you could do a video on distance learning options for people considering either a career change or for those already in the sector but considering further education.
How can I get into QS if I have a BA in Architecture degree ? Should I try get a graduate apprenticeship level 7 or just do a masters in QS. Many thanks
Drawing on my experience, it's common for individuals transitioning into Quantity Surveying with an existing degree to pursue a master's program in the field. This advanced study can be either self-financed or sponsored by an employer. Given your background in a construction-related discipline, you are exceptionally well-placed to secure a Quantity Surveying role where the employer might generously sponsor your master's studies. Additionally, it's worth noting that I've encountered several Quantity Surveyors who have successfully launched their careers with qualifications in related areas, such as Civil Engineering, without the necessity of a master's degree. Your existing educational foundation significantly enhances your potential in this exciting field.
