In this video you will see a variety of experiments conducted with superconductors including quantum locking and quantum levitation. The experiments are conducted with Type II superconductors. The Meissner Effect is briefly described. An introduction to how quantum locking and flux pinning occurs is also described. To learn more, consider reading the following references:

I’m not sure why I’m awake at 2am watching this. But I’m now invested in quantum locking. Thank you for my new hyperfixation.

I knew they levitated above magnets but picking them up just blew my mind. That's amazing.

I think i missed where he explained but, why does the super conductor need to be below its tc?

Is it possible to have a superconductor that contains liquid nitrogen so that it always stays at the desired temperature?
@TommyTechnetium
@TommyTechnetium 2 года назад
Interesting suggestion! I would imagine this would not be possible because liquid nitrogen boils away as it cools objects.

wait so could you make a sort of terrain course if you could find the right sized magnets? like a literal rollercoaster?

Good Sir..I subscribed your channel and seeking help to implement below scenario I would like to know or you can make video on the below topic. Which are the chemicals that has hydrophobic effect once applied on copper penny.. Means if we can hold the needle (Iron/Steel) on top of penny...it just repels it in circular motion and does not attract to the penny. Also magnet should get repel on that effect. Please guide me to implement this on my project.

How cold does the superconductor have to become for this effect? Could you do this in Antarctica without liquid nitrogen?
@TommyTechnetium
@TommyTechnetium 2 года назад
The particular superconductor used in this video must be cooled to 93 K (-180C, -292F) to become superconducting. This temperature is MUCH lower than even the coldest temperatures in Antarctica

@@TommyTechnetium after taking out from liquid nitrogen how many minutes it will work?
@TommyTechnetium
@TommyTechnetium 6 месяцев назад
@@G_U_R_U It depends on how much water the superconductor has absorbed. More water and it loses superconductivity faster

i feel like a version of this is how a Star Wars type repulsorlift craft would work....only using the earths magnetic field perhaps

Next project, build a Möbius strip magnetic track for the superconductor 👍

that is a wonderful Idea! I really hope Tommy will get the opportunity to make it, though it does sound expensive, so I wish you success, Tommy, subscribed.

friend if this quantum lock be invention? (false). The nitrogen freezed Aether nearest magnetic poles inside material...think in this (the material now is magnetic ) AETHER CAN BE PROVED (true). {isso explica porque o imã pode girar em seu eixo magnético...em supercondutividade isso não deveria ocorrer [variação do campo magnético geraria Ed corrent (fomos enganados?)]}. Congratulaitions! like you!
