Thanks for the video! What's the orbital type (l) and other quantum numbers of hybrid orbitals like sp3? Hybrid orbitals should be described with that pattern too or not?
I have 30 years of teaching experience from HS to college. This topic is very tough to teach. I watch and learn how to present the material in a more detailed, clear, and understandable way. This instructor is excellent.
crash course is fun and all, and I absolutely adore hank, but this is exactly what I need. clear, straightforward, goes through examples, covers all bases. I applaud you good sir.
@@apearson79 I can already hear his voice when I think about him. He be saying something like : *And NEXT we have.. Is the uhhh... The uuhhhhhhh... The AngULAR MoMENtum Quantum NUmberrsssss..* says that while writes with his virtually ugly handwriting 😂
It's absolutely ridiculous that I can learn more from you in 12 minutes (at absolutely no cost) than what I could in 160 minutes of my professor's lectures.
it's straightforward and simple, explaining accurately..... without any useless background story....... And we don't need assuming like in classrooms....... I am very thankful for this.....
Higher education is a big fat joke! Professors don't teach. I learned more from youtube videos, such as from The Organic Chemistry Tutor, than lectures in class.
Can you do a series of force couples, moments, etc in statics? It's first year physics for engineering but not covered in your physics Playlist yet. Thanks
I read my books, listened to my teacher and was left drowning. I could not understand the theory at ALL! But after seeing this video i’m like "ohhhh i get it now". So thank you sooooo much for making this so much simpler than it is.
Dawg, you are amazing. I thank God I found this video. Explained everything so beautifully. From complete confusion, to mild confidence in the topic. Thank you sir! You are a blessing!
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much😭... You just saved my life😩. I searched everywhere but could not find anyone, not one person, that could explain this concept as you did🔥. A question looked hard before, I went back to the question after watching this video, and wow! I was amazed at how simple it looked. God bless you.
Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for a beautiful introduction to Quantum Numbers in AP/General Chemistry. Quantum Numbers is a topic that I am currently learning from start to finish. This is an error free video/lecture on RU-vid TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.
thank you so much for your explanation of the Quantum numbers, I have been struggling with Chemistry lately, and your explanation has been a massive help.
I have just entered 10th, 15 days back, and am trying to learn this. Thanks to my teacher who taught me S,P,D,F in brief in the 9th grade, I am able to learn this. Thanks for the video.
I think money should be stripped away from professors who's student seek help outside of class than they should to where they get the help from, like organic chemistry. Probably might make them better professor XD. YOU ROCK ORGANIC CHEMISTRY GUY!
I was shocked at the end, honestly thought it would go -2 U+D then -1 U+D, 0 U+D, then 1 Up to finish on 1 Down, instead your saying it goes either all Up or all Down then switches to the opposite, that surprised me, I'm sure what I'm saying is stupid but can anyone explain what I'm missing
Why is it okay to chose to start with the arrows pointing down and make it ambiguous whether the last number is + or - 1/2? Isn't the whole point of this number coding system to ELIMINATE ambiguity when talking about electrons? If the tutor himself is reading this, thank you so much for what you do!
My teacher had 1 1/2 hours to explain and I left with NO idea what he was talking about! This video is only 12 minutes and it was making perfect since within the first few minutes of the explanation. Why couldn’t my teacher just state what was stated on this video?
00:04 Quantum numbers describe the address and properties of electrons in an atom 01:34 The relationship between n and l in quantum numbers. 03:02 Electron configuration determines the possible sublevels for each energy level. 04:36 The quantum numbers describe the energy levels and orbitals of electrons 06:09 Different sublevels have different values of magnetic quantum number (ml). 07:39 Different sublevels have a specific number of orbitals and can hold a maximum number of electrons. 09:16 Electron spin and quantum numbers 10:57 Electron spin can be negative one-half or positive one half.
I wonder if this is what Hilma Af Klimt's tree of klowledge painting was about. google her if you haven't heard of her - she is an artist in the early 20th century who gave form to physics
So in that last example .. you said Ms could vary + or - depending on how we draw it.. do we not have to draw the arrows all up first before we start down arrow? Hund's rule? Everything else is crystal clear for me thank you so much for the thorough lessons.
