Pretty new to your channel and I saw in a (I think) 2022 wrapup video you mention "The Last Plea Bargain" by Randy Singer. You gave it a "eh" score. He is one of my favorites. You might want to try him again if you haven't read anymore of his books. His book "The Advocate" is set right after the life of Jesus and has good Christian themes. The first book I read by Singer was "Self Incrimination" and that was really good. If you like lawyer type books, like Singer, look up the author Robert Whitlow.
I feel like i am a minority when it comes to christian fiction especially contemporary romance. I only read christian fiction for the most part, i love it, but i am very picky with the faith content! I want the message and the in between the line messages to be GOOD. Gospel! A lot of times they feel shallow and focused on the physicality unfortunately. But i've found some gems and it feels good to speak about what i believe and remember why i believe what i believe! Super fun to read and break everything down. Its funny bcuz some of the clean books ive read that are not marketed as christian have impacted me more!
Yes! If I’m going to spend my time reading it, it needs to have a good purpose (other than pure entertainment). There’s so few that actually have the gospel but I always appreciate it when I find one 🤩
Oh wow! I do hope you like the Ariadre book, but it is ok if you don't 😂 I realize fantasy is not for everyone! Also there is a lot of christian allegory and symbolism in it, so if you have any questions about what anything means, feel free to ask! 😄
🙈I’m kind of scared to read it. What if I don’t like it 👀 but it looks so good!! Ooh thanks for the heads up! I do like a good allegory. I typically just don’t like how impossible it is. If it has real world elements but then mixes in fantastical things that could never happen, that bothers me. But if it’s a full fantasy world, I can do it sometimes. Have you ever read Tolkiens essay on fairy-stories? I’m exactly the person he was arguing with in there 🙈
@haleyannabelle20 oh 😂 I've never read Tolkein's essay but I will tell you that all of the gifts given by the fire rose are gifts found in scripture or something that could really happen as a result of an encounter with God, so they do have some real world elements. I tried to stay away from magic, although the evil entities do have some supernatural power much like Satan or a demon would have. And the Forest is special. Just have fun with the forest. Haha That's all I can think of for now that might be questionable 🤔 you'll have to let me know 😄
