Have to strongly disagree with you mate. He is out on his feet because he is not fit enough to play a 80 minute game and does not get around the park very well for a 7. These highlights actually make him look good as he spends most of the time walking around the park. @ 4:50 this is his normal body language around the park when he is no within 2-3m of the ball.

@@hamishgoodley7208 Each to their own mate. I look at stuff from 3:02 onward where he makes a tackle, sharp onto his feet, realises its not worth contesting then immediately looks to get across. I still wouldn't start him over Cane but a very strong option off the bench

@@Kama_lefagaoalii For someone who doesn't have a lot of time to sit down and watch games. I enjoy consuming sports highlights. Now I heard Ardie had a stella game. Yet there isn't a single highlight of him. The NRL manages to put together some good highlight packages, I don't see why rugby cannot do the same.

twhw twhw ok so just the vast majority of situations in which a defender would be able to knock the ball down. So if a normal knock on is not considered foul play, why is it considered foul play when it is intentional?

@@clarke1319 you are not intentionally allowed to knock the ball down, it doesn't matter if it goes forward or back if it is intentional and you do not attempt to catch it it is deemed as foul play.

@@jdlardz7854 generally a knock on is an accident. i.e the player is not attempting to gain an unfair advantage. An intentional knock on is considered foul play because its unfair play just like any other penalisable infringement (offside,obstruction,dangerous play, ruck/maul offences, scrum /lineout offences etc.)

@@hamishgoodley7208 Hamish, there is no such infringement in the laws of rugby preventing a ball being 'knocked down'. It is often referred to by referees, commentators, writers, and fans as a 'knock down' however what they really mean is a 'knock on' (knock forward). There is only a penalisable infringement if the player intentionally knocks the ball forward resulting in a knock on. A knock on occurs if the ball is knocked forward and not retrieved before touching the ground or another player. If a player knocks the ball in any direction other than forward then no infringement has occurred.
