@@graceclayton4602 Queen II is an excellent album, and one of my favorites. White Queen (As it began) is a beautiful song. The reason I like '39, though, is because of the problems presented with space travel at (or near) the speed of light. Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity plays a large part in the song.
Id say he is the best like yes Gilmour is great but his ego is pushed so much. From what ive gathered they had to push Brian into the god solos weve gotten
@@Ithrial420 I don't think gilmour had an ego problem from what the other band mates had said. Either way pink floyd's work is a testament of what can happen when blooming creatives as individuals come together to make something as a collective
His singing is like molasses for the ears! Some of the songs he sings are the most beautiful tunes! My faves are tied between this song, Sail Away Sweet Sister and '39.
I had seven friends. We met often. They were my second family. I am now 87 years old and the last of my friends died a year ago. I am the last. I listen to this song and I can't stop crying. All dead and gone...
At least you had that. I had many I thought were friends, dozens, but they really weren’t, or aren’t. I’m only 50 and I know that when I kick the bucket, there’s probably a maximum of 4 people going to be at the funeral. Maybe I can revive some old friendships, I’ve tried over the years, but everyone’s so caught up in their family or job - they just don’t care anymore. So you may be sad about your friends passing, my father feels similar, but my parents are out and about, meeting new people, making friends. Since you were able to have such wonderful friends, even seven of them, you might just find ONE more? Don’t give up. I hope you’re still around, not dead and gone. You carry a spark I envy you for.
It's sad to see the robot from the News of the World album fallen... Representing Freddie's death, and that the birds in the video represent all four of them with only Brian and Roger being the last 2 orginal members of Queen that still perform for the band...
It's symbolism, that everything does have it's time, like the News Of The World robot laying there, no longer working, the four birds turning into two (representing Deacon and Mercury leaving the group - Deacon going into retirement and Mercury passing away) and of course Brian's dead cat lol
INTERESTING CHANNEL Brian was a cat person too, but not quite as much as Freddie! There’s a few photos floating around of him as a teenager with the cat from the video.
It definitely cut the onions for me, I had a black cat that I took in from the wild which I had a special bond with. He got out one day and never came back, killed me.
*middle of the video* me: oh look 4 birdies i wonder who they represent *end of the video-only two birds* me: OH MY GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-
@@ekop1778 please dont make everything religious. I'm sorry for your loss, but you really shouldn't make it a religious thing. And, you shouldnt grieve, celebrate the life he had.

Rosi Takala he had a childhood cat named pixie! I’m not sure if he still has any cats, but I know he really loves animals so I wouldn’t be surprised if he does!
That would have been a very bad choice in my opinion, I think the show must go on was the perfect choice considering it was written for Freddie while he was very very ill
I thought that "The Show Must Go On" was the perfect ending. Freddie may be all dead, but the movie proves that his legacy is going on. It's a tribute to not just a great frontman, but a friend of the other members of the band.
i recently bought a record player and naturally had to buy queen vinyls (news of the world and innuendo) and i always repeat this song because its so darn beautiful. good job may! you really did something there
Also worth noting that four birds are seen flying during the instrumental break. During the ending, two of the birds fly back and rest on the robot's fingers. Most likely to represent the band
skipdad yeah, especially the ending. I guess that the robot (from the cover of News of the World) is symbolic for death, as he holds the cat and the birds, even though Deacy isn’t dead.
Notless Games ainda tem BR que gosta de Boa música, sobrevivendo sufocados pela barbaridade que domina o mainstream... esperança que isso passe um dia.
He does. Not everyone is a powerhouse virtuoso like Freddie was. Brian May has a perfectly lovely voice, especially on delicate numbers like this or beautiful anthems like '39.
This song has touched my heart since the moment I heard it back in 1978. Knowing it is about Brian's childhood cat makes it that much more special. Amazing how close we can become to our furry friends, and how sad and empty we feel when they leave us. Bravo, Queen! This is a song for the ages, love the video. "But of course I don't believe..."
I love Freddie very much but he's not the only one in the band. Each of them write amazing songs. ROGER TAYLOR BRIAN MAY JOHN DEACON They are all part of queen and they are all equally important. Without them there wouldn't be a a queen and there probably wouldn't be a Freddie Mercury
I listened to this song so many times without any context, and I realized what it was about when my first pet, my beautiful female dog, past away a year ago. I was just grieving her and listening to some songs while working at home when this one came up, and it hit me... then I made a video about my lovely friend and used this song for background music. After uploading it i read about the story behind this song, and it amazed me it was about a kitty that passed away. What a kind warm song. I love Queen, it gave me hope in my teen years, when I was so depressed I wanted to commit suicide, but I kept listening to all the albums my father had at home, he had most of the Queen vinyls, but I bought the ones he didn't had at fairs and music stores with the money my mother gave me for lunch... Your songs and my dog friend gave me hope, gave me reasons to be alive. You even have songs that try to prevent suicide in the title, like "Don't try suicide", also another song that helped me when a girl left me in high school was "Jealousy", and a lot of Hot Space songs were really good for my psyche. My family helped, but I really had a lot of self esteem issues... Time changed me a lot, but now I am in a race for stopping self esteem, I don't care about my looks, but my health either... I stopped doing exercise... and I only work and study all day... I'm 31. I have to start listening your songs again, I don't make myself time to be happy... Well, I love this video :)
Sorry for your loss. We had to put down our beloved Jack Russell Terrier a few years ago. For the first few weeks, it was unbearable. Now I can remember her without crying, and now we have a beloved cat we inherited from a relative who passed away. She's in good health, but unfortunately, 18 years old! So who knows, maybe there's another dog in our future? At any rate, major kudos to the creator of this awesome video! As for the song, it's one of my favorite Queen songs.
Hang in there friend. You seem like a lovely person and just don’t give up. You aren’t alone. Keep an open heart, I think your words resonate and helped people scrolling through this.
All I noticed: -Depressed and full of story song -The lyrics composed by Brian plus the childhood cat -4 birbs which is them, later they are 2, reminds Freddie died and Deacon retired. -Plus above, the scene of 4 is the part where they raise to be legends, and then the 2 is lost -The giant robot means they were fallen champions
Do the birds at the end represent those gone or those still here, can't decide. I love this song and video. Many Thanks to Brian, prefer his voice over Freddie's on this song.
My cat of almost 10 years just tragically passed away the day before this comment was made. The next morning I remembered this song and video exists, and instantly sobbing to myself again. A truly sad and beautiful song for anyone, especially grieving pet lovers. To Sam 🧡
One of my very favorite songs by Brian. It’s best when he sings it, just like “39”. It’s sad but uplifting at the same time. Also doesn’t hurt to be a “cat lover”. Thanks Brian!! 🐈🐈
How are there 600 dislikes for this? I mean, you heave to be a Queen fan to even know the song..... so are Queen fans hitting dislike? Doesn’t make sense.
Sad fact: in 2:08 there is 4 bird and in 3:07 only 2 bird his represent Freddie John Roger And Brian Freddie Dead in 1991 and John leave Queen at 1997 after No one but you
I just realised it's Brian who's singing. This song is so beautiful, calm, but profund at the same time. I love the piano instrumental and the sudden drums. Queen has seriously and definately changed my life with their songs. If Roger or Brian happen to read this, thank you so much for all you've done guys. You have left a legacy that will never be forgotten. May Freddie rest in peace and I hope John is alright too. Thank you!!
I think it even was Brian who played the Piano in this one, but I'm note sure. But here is a Version where Freddie sung some parts and the other half was Brian ( if you haven't already heard this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fxQHi1QXboo.html )
@@gtsonev1988 Yup, i agree, the transsistion from Freddie to Brian voice is very touching and context of the entire song makes it very sad. I also like "These Are the Days of Our Lives".
Lyrics ~ She came without a farthing A babe without a name So much ado about nothing Is what she'd try to say So much ado, my lover So many games we played Through every fleeted Summer Through every precious day All dead, all dead All the dreams we had And I wonder why I still live on All dead, all dead And alone, I'm spared My sweeter half instead All dead and gone All dead All dead, all dead At the rainbow's end And still, I hear her own sweet song All dead, all dead Take me back again You know my little friend's All dead and gone Her ways are always with me I wander all the while But, please, you must forgive me I am old but still a child All dead, all dead But I should not grieve In time it comes to everyone All dead, all dead But in hope, I breathe Of course, I don't believe You're dead and gone All dead and gone.
There is no "Freddie's version", not only was this written by Brian in '77, it was also sung by him as well. Edit...I just heard a "hybrid" version with Freddie doing the vocals. Like Guitar Stuff, I like Brian's version better than Freddie's
When we all here that part we do think of Freddie but maybe we should remember others but we all need to remember him for his stage performance and his vocals and queens music
Brian May had even worked with NASA in the past, I believe he still does. He's more than just a musician and also an animal rights activist and an environmentalist.
This has to be one of the most beautiful and touching songs I know. My childhood cat, of which I lived with for as long as I can remember, just passed away, and this song speaks every emotion I feel. I have been listening to this song on repeat, tearing up at every lyric. The line 'of course I don't believe you're dead and gone' is so powerful; in every corner of my house I can still see my cat curled up asleep, his spirit will never be gone. He gave me unconditional love all my life, and always knew when I needed his comfort. I will truly miss him.
It all connects, guys. The cat is Brian’s (ofc because the songs written about the cat). The Robot is Freddie because he does sing in the song, but the animation wasn’t made until MUCH later. Which means Freddie passed away before the animation was made. The birds at first, are Freddie, Roger, John, and Brian, but then at the end of the video, just the two birds represent Roger and Brian. That’s because Deaky retired, and Freddie died. It all CONNECTS GUYS.
This songs is about Brian's childhood cat who died. The female cat is the "little friend" Brian speaks about in the whole song. Not everything is about Freddie's demise.
All the best musicians All dead, all dead All the dreams I had And I wonder why I still live on All dead, all dead And alone I'm spared My sweeter half instead All dead And gone All dead... All dead, all dead At the rainbow's end And still I hear their own sweet song right in my tiny head All dead, all dead
Everyone in this fucking band can sing better than I could ever sing, seriously, a band full of great singers and great instrument players...what a blessing
Fantastic. Never knew the song was about this. Decidated to all the cats I loved before........Wampi, Marloesje, Humpie, Moossie, Ian, Zoe, Mitzi, Jack, Roger, Suze, RoodKop, Broer, Lizzy, Igor, Mimi, Mollie.
My cat just died, she looked exactly like the one in this video. She was curious, playful and a ray of sunshine in my cloudy life. This song is making me cry buckets right now. RIP my little angel. ❤️
@@jeffstewart3342I agree 💯%👍! Getting over the loss of a pet is more difficult than the loss of a human being. Pets are unconditional love, humans not so much. ☮️💜🙏 May you have beauty, peace and kindness in your life.
This song makes me remember my ex-girlfriend former cat, she decided to return him because he was clawing all her stuff, and when she did, I broke down in tears completely, because I couldn’t bring him home since I live with my parents. I still miss that little furry black dude a lot... Everytime I sat on the couch he jumped on it and sat on my lap to be cuddled. I love you, Zyon, and I am so sorry I couldn’t bring you with me 😭
i honestly love queens ballads significantly more than their more heavily pop/rock songs. I wish they had made more and that the ones they did make were more popular
🙋🏾♀️ chap sky 💁🏾♀️ No worries 'cos this 40th anniversary video has Freddie's vocals blended with Bri's. The birds started out as 4 but by the end of the video, 2 left (Deacury)....leaving the remaining 2 (Maylor)✌🏾! Now Freddie's 'all dead' like Bri's childhood kitty cat 😓!
Lyrics! (incase you don’t know them) She came without a farthing A babe without a name So much ado 'bout nothing Is what she'd try to say So much ado my lover So many games we played Through every fleeted summer Through every precious day All dead, all dead All the dreams we had And I wonder why I still live on All dead, all dead And alone I'm spared My sweeter half instead All dead And gone All dead... Ok so there is a lot of symbolism in this video, like the birds representing John and Freddie, and Brian’s cat. But I think there is a big symbol of this song all throughout the video. The robot. At the end, we figure out that the robot was dead and the cat was walking around inside it’s body. I think that’s a large amount of symbolism for the song, much more for the video and band in general. You see, that album was made when queen were really going through a crisis. New bands were showing up, the genre was getting worse, and their last album wasn’t doing so well as the phenomenal hit of A Night At The Opera. So they’re time of popularity was really starting to come to an end to most people. But they didn’t give up. They pulled through to make the most straight forward album they ever did, and it soon became their best selling album. Over 4 million copies in the us alone. Especially with it having two of the best, most popular songs they ever did, We Will Rock You, and We Are The Champions. And so the idea of it being dead, and the cat watching it, was really (in my opinion) supposed to show how even something as large and mighty as a city destroying monster (or a record destroying album) would eventually fall. And that cat was something of Brian, looking out on what they made and all the work and individual parts of it, remembering every struggle. And coming to terms with it. Seeing their beautiful creation finally run its course, and die. And the song shows this even more. He can’t believe it’s all dead and gone, but at time everyone deals with this. And he’s still here after all this time. John and Freddie have walked away from this forever. So here he is, looking at it. (This was just a theory of mine. If you have a different idea of what it means please let me know) Edit: I’m not trying to say that the song was written for this. I’m just saying that the video was built around showing this song with a different idea.
