She's a mix of different styles. I'm glad they made her clothes pretty versatile, with different patterns, shapes and colors, or else she would've looked like a caricature of the upper class
@@dc9067 yes! Yet she combine these clothes perfectly. So perfectly that we can even read her personality by the way she expresses herself with fashion
In my opinion Blair's style shows her high status and delicateness, but also sharp and powerful energy. She has a conservative style when it comes to dressing, although she manages to look preppy and chic. Her design is delightful, and portrays her personality so well- if you focus, her outfits colours and patterns sometimes matches her mood: while she was a high school student she wore grey/black and blue tones mostly but later on when Serena comes back and they start to get along, she wears warmer colours like pink, green, yellow and beige. When she starts to fall in love with Chuck is seen wearing lingerie and red/black accessories to attract his attention. Hands down Blair is the best dressed character on the TV teen drama history.
The thing I love the most about BW and most people seem to not understand about a good Queen B type of character, is that she is an expert in the system the operates. Like she knows all the duties to fullfill and strategic moves a Queen Bee has to make in order to stay in power. While the new "Queen Bee" of GG2.0 for example, seems to think that just being hot and rich is enough. But Blair a true leader, both Constance and Saint Judes call for her advice when they are in problem, she keep the units tight. She basically plays the game as it must be played and I think that her switchings in self presentation through clothes demonstrates her sharp view on how to influence people around her by carefully alining her looks with a specific intended perception of her. B is a genius that not even Regina George can reach. Regina's big poer move include her open high school and the mall. BW's is focused on high society and Ivy League. And Chanel Oberlin can't barely manage trhee minions, Blait commands "two schools", including the boys, for who is the king of Saint Judes? Nate Chuck? I don't think they operate in that kinda of structure! Is it just me?
I totally agree with you, at least until she graduated. Then Blair realizes that she doesn't rule anymore, not even with Sage's minions. The social scenario changed a lot.
@@paolaa.calderonsanchez4666 I dont know if you'd agree, but to me the process of Blair realizing that the game she is in after graduation is a very different one is what creares the depth of the character and of the series because it creates a kind of inner consistency that many shows now a days lack
thats the point tho julian doesnt wanna be that kind of ruling with an iron fist queen bee. and this sort of mean girl queen bee culture has died down in recent years anyway so it wouldnt make sense
this was so great i genuinely think blair is one of the best dressed tv characters of all time her style changes as she grows and i also love how they make it match her personal storylines ex when she starts dating chuck their outfits start cordinating in very subtle pleasing ways. i also love how her style evolves with her many people hate s6 of gossip girl but i actually think 607 her pop up shop episode is one of the most crucial ones in understanding blairs character. she is able to put aside her scheming and let both her light and dark sides balance each other out and it’s a real moment of growth for her
I literally don't know where to say it, but the people rn seem to forget that blair isn't just preppy style, they show some preppy style with very neutral colors and call it "blair Waldorf style outfits" but blair is as said by Eric Daman himself a mixture of classic and modern. She's Audrey Hepburn with Anna wintour style patterns and bright vibrant colors and all of it makes it look like her style has been taken a whole different meaning than what it actually was.
That's why I don't like the "Blair Waldorf" aesthetic that you see on Pinterest and TikTok, sure, it's nice but it's way too simple and looks more like a caricature of Blair rather than her actual style. When people copy her, they only do cheap tweed sets, bows, and pearl necklaces but they don't realize her style is more than that and has a lot of individuality.
I love Blair’s uniform at Constance, those were amazing And her red dress (de la renta’s perhaps} on S4 is sooooo greatt That was one of the best dress of the show
I love her style so much and some elements of her style have been incorporated into my own style. Thank you for taking the time to make this video is was very interesting and well done.
Love your editing style and video ideas. And every few months I come back to this channel and give it another try. And every time I get annoyed in the first 10 seconds because of how you speak. It's just.. a bit much and over the top
Finally! This was really wonderful, and the insight is truly appreciated! Here's one that's really new, Maggie Q's character Anna in The Protégé. The movie is less than 2 hours, but one would enjoy seeing her ensembles, albeit few.
I would LOVE if you did Sidney and Tatum and Gale from Scream for the Halloween season, they’re so iconic, and I feel like their costuming and styling is so tied to their characters! 🎃
I was really interested in your analysis and wanted to watch this video to learn something but your narration is so off-putting, it was frustrating to stick around till the end of the video. The voice, pacing and cadence make it so hard to pay attention to what you're actually saying. Not engaging at all. Please do something about it because I am interested in your videos.
Well I think she explained it the previous videos that she can't help it. That's just how her voice it. Perhaps she should make someone else narrate her videos for her. But I kinda like her voice
i love blair's style when she dresses up, she always looks so sexy😍but blair in flat shoes?! that just doesn't work for me, that's so serena😒but i loved when she wore leggins😍but maybe that's to comfy for blair
number fifteen burger king foot lettuce the last thing you'd want in your burger king burger is foot fungus but as it turns out that's might be what you gæt a four channer uploaded a photo online-
@@sabrinac8453 Anne wanted power status and to be queen and she became one, Blair was a park avenue queen who wanted to maintain her power and then she gave it to Jenny, even after she was no longer queen of constance school she still wanted to rule over everyone and continue having power over everyone so there are similar traits between Anne and Blair
I love the quality of the video but to be honest I don’t listen to half of what you say. I don’t get the voice. Feel like someone who try too hard to have a smooth voice. This isn’t sexual content…
So happy to see your analysis of Blair's style and identity! She's one of my favorite OG GG characters despite her....myriad of questionable actions and decisions. She exudes power and influence while also possessing a soft side that not everyone sees, which is a trait I love about her most. She's an extremely complex character, and so is her style.
I'm surprised they haven't done a video on Blair yet honestly; she's probably one of the most well-known TV fashion icons of all time. I'm excited it's finally here though!
I adored the first video but adore this re-upload even more. As a typology and MBTI nerd, I truly appreciate your focus on cognitive functions rather than the individual letters. Blair is a true ENTJ with high Te and Ni - INFP ❤️
I really like the content of these videos but the narration gets to me. It is too breathy or something? Have to put the captions on and mute it which is a shame. Still liked it though!
Blair picked a style that fit her that people could emulate but never completed copy even now in the real world most people can’t dress and give Blair vibes but can follow her lead she is very specific in how she does everything to ensure she can keep her power
I been waiting for this video. I love BW perspective on fashion. What got me into Gossip Girl is when I saw a photo of BW wearing this lovely preppy outfit on a fashion website. I was like who is this. So after that I started watching all the episodes of Gossip Girl. Thank god I finished it. There were so many episodes but they were entertaining to watch. All the episodes were not boring at all. Gossip Girl is one of the best shows I've ever watched. I love watching BW grow throughout the show. Her personality was the most interesting. She may be mean on the outside but she is loyal and caring over the people whom she loves. She is my favorite because I relate so much to her personality.
Blair Waldorf is an iconic role model. She taught me why females can be mean, but grow and inspire everyone to have dreams, learn from classic movies, insist on high standards and go from wannabe queen to queen of hearts, while looking impeccable. Hair, makeup and clothes so on point and endlessly inspiring me. 💃🏻
