A student walks into class at 8:05. Exactly 5 mins late. The teacher pauses in his lecture and asks why the student was exactly 5 mins late. The student says, "Well I had just pulled into the parking lot when Bohemian Rhapsody came on the radio. And I just couldn't walk away from a jam like that." The teacher nods approvingly and continues his lecture.
To Students of Music: This song pops up under a search for polyphony, but it is not polyphony. This is an example of homophony--one primary melody with various interesting harmonies (such as the broken chords on the piano) that support and add beauty to the primary melody.
I remember watching this video with my older sister in late 74 - on countdown (australia) and was blown away by it - so unique and different - even now it still has alot of power
Freddy Mercury was such a talented musician. So good harmonic ideas, really incredible. What a pity that he had to die so early. And for all bad "christian" trolls here, I´m sure he sits in heaven now on a cloud, because Jesus likes Queen also!
America was introduced to this song, and for many of us the band Queen, when this video aired on the Midnight Special in 1975. The Midnight Special was always a live performance format, so the video was a very rare exception. Got everyone's attention to say the least! I still remember watching the show and thinking "WTF did I just see??" Great song and a great time for music.
I here ya Hanna I was raised as all the music made history and so glad to say I was a part of it, but keep listening to the music and we it keep it alive...
I'm mostly into metal and Classical but ***** is right, this is the best song ever written. I remember that grim day when Freddie Mercury died. A premature loss to humanity of a musical genius, like the death of Mozart. But his music will live as long as there are people with ears to listen.
awwwwwwwwwwwww me enamoree amo sus canciones :D el mejor QUEEN un gran grupo , sus presentaciones wooow , los mejores , aunque halla pasado tiempo , sus música serán eternas dejando grandes temas :3
no matter how many time i hear this song, it still chills me to the core, a pure masterpeice and someything that will never be replicated by todays musicians
You have to view it as a piece of art. This song is extremely original and makes a beautiful masterpiece as a piece of music. While most songs are somewhat predictable and are simple expressions, this one is one of a kind and is much more of a complex masterpiece than a simple expression.
I LOVE THIS SONG OF THE QUEEN I BELIEVE ITS ONE OF THE BEST SONG OF THEM. THE WORDS ARE SO EMOTUONAL. MAMA JUST KILLED THE MA AND MAMA LIFE HAS JUST BEGUN...GREAT
If you have to ask you haven't found your niche yet, keep looking, you will know when you find it, it will be eargasmic and will want to listen to it over and over again. You will be happy happy happy!
